Promoting the pioneering role of the transport sector in socio-economic development, thanks to the attention of the Government, ministries, agencies, international organizations, Binh Duong province has invested in many strategic transport projects paving the way for investment attraction, industrial development. In addition, the province has mobilized socio-economic entities to join hands to build up a continuous, synchronous transport system, forming a solid, uninterrupted, and modern transport infrastructure.

My Phuoc - Tan Van route will largely contribute to the industrial development of northern areas

Transport takes the lead to clear the way

Pioneering and contributing largely to local socio-economic development, investment attraction of Binh Duong province in the industrialization and modernization process was the project of Highway 13, which was a leverage to turn a low-value agricultural - forestry production economy into a leading economy in industrial development, attract investment. After 10 years of transport development, opening the way to industrialization, modernization, Binh Duong Avenue (Highway 13) has become a highlight of urban architecture and industrial – service development.

Besides, Binh Duong has encourage all economic sectors to invest in important transport projects, like My Phuoc - Tan Van route, DT743 street expansion, three routes of Tan Uyen town, 7A street of Ben Cat town, Ong Co bridge, DT744 street… These projects have not only had the role of transport development serving industrial development but also connected satellite towns around Binh Duong New City, stimulated economic restructure at provincial southern areas, contributed to turning Binh Duong province into an urban city directly under the Central by 2020.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of extended My Phuoc - Tan Van route project, Nguyen Huu Chi, Secretary of Bau Bang district Party Committee, said this was an important traffic work to stimulate provincial socio-economic development, a leverage to industrial - services – urban development, investment attraction. Bau Bang district Party, government and people were delighted and hoped that the project would have been completed as planned. Mr. Chi said, when this project started, to capture new opportunities from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), international corporations, high-tech enterprises had made investments in projects in Bau Bang. At the present, Bau Bang industrial parks is completely filled, local government is proposing expanding this industrial park to continue attracting high-quality investments.

On the other hand, the province has invested and completed the transport "backbone" axis of North Tan Uyen district to solve transportation needs, motivate local socio-economic development, investment attraction, and help to improve the province's competitiveness through shortening transportation distances from neighboring provinces of Binh Duong to seaports and airports, Mekong delta and vice versa.

Through a development strategy of solid, uninterrupted, and modern transport infrastructure, Binh Duong has been not only an industrial center but also a commercial, high-quality service center of the southern key economic zone.

Developing synchronous industrial park infrastructure

The province has developed 29 industrial parks (IPs). In the new period, Binh Duong will keep promoting valuable experiences in IP infrastructure development in order to create the best conditions to attract investors. A good thing is that the province obtained a consensus between the government, citizens, and investors in land clearance for IP construction.

Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Board of Directors, CEO of Becamex IDC, said, Binh Duong province had a consistent view that “Building IPs to stimulate socio-economic development serving the people, serving the country. Enterprises investing in IP construction must ensure that the people in clearance areas will have a better life; if their life is equal to or lower than before, IP planning and developing has no meaning”. Therefore, Binh Duong has created thousands hectare of “clean land” for IP infrastructure development, constructed good, efficient IPs for investors.

In addition, while constructing IPs, the province has not used state budget. All investment capital is from socialization sources. The has 19 enterprises in 5 economic sectors making investments in IP infrastructure. These enterprises have effectively attracted domestic and foreign capital sources for IP infrastructure construction, contributed to attracting investments, promoting provincial socio-economic development.

With rational orientations and the consensus from all people classes, the province would have more and more emerging factories, enterprises, urban, residential areas at northern areas, painting a lively picture of Binh Duong in the future.
