• Mr. Phan Van Hieu, Song Be province People’s Council former Chairman: Young generation should study General Vo Nguyen Giap’s exampleMr. Hieu met General Vo Nguyen Giap after the national liberation’s day. This memory always moved him to tears.After the liberation, General Giap visited Binh Duong to meet key provincial leaders and officers. Mr. Hieu, who was provincial Party Committee Member cum Secretary of Chau Thanh district Party Committee at that time, listened to precious experiences of Gen. Giap. The General treated enemies with great tolerance, and reminded our cadres to have lenient policies for defeated enemies. He also said about famous words about clemency to inhibit losses. The General also encouraged provincial army forces to promote solidarity, learning and production to rebuild the country. General Vo Nguyen Giap was a great person in terms of leading and life.“The death of General Giap left us with a great grief. I pledge to study Gen. Contributions of Gen. Giap to the country are undisputable. That was the determination, lucid leadership and genius of the General in Dien Bien Phu victory in 1954. He devoted his entire life to the country. After war, he was military consultant for senior leaders. growing . General vision far away , before he left, he wanted to take back home to be buried in Quang Binh and he wanted his country will become more developed. He had a remarkable breadth of vision. Before his death, he wanted to be buried in his hometown Quang Binh province and hoped for further development of the country.In daily life, General Giap was an exemplary father. His offspring are currently continuing his lofty cause, serving the country. The most significant achievement was his excellent leading in Dien Bien Phu campaign. With only 4 infantry regiments, 1 artillery regiment, he exploited smartly civilian war, prepared ordnance, changed military strategy to defeat enemies modernly equipped. Dien Bien Phu victory has resonated all over the world, made him become a legend, being the pride of Vietnamese people.In daily life, the General was also an example of contributions to people and country.
