Advocate for the efficacy of cultural initiatives that benefit workers

Under the attentive oversight and guidance of provincial leaders, numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing the cultural and spiritual well-being of workers, civil servants, and laborers in the province have been established. These initiatives foster a communal environment, serving as a vibrant living space for both workers and local residents.

Workers have access to more recreational areas

Currently, the province hosts two projects designated as "common roofs" for workers' activities. These include the Ben Cat Workers' Cultural Center, which spans a total land area of 10,644 m², with a construction area of 3,982.1 m². The center consists of three floors and has a total investment of nearly 70 billion VND, scheduled for completion in 2024.

The second project is the Binh Duong provincial Labor Culture Center, located in the Viet-Sing Residential Area of An Phu Ward, Thuan An City. The project encompasses a total area of 2.3 hectares and includes facilities such as a conference and event center, a multi-purpose gymnasium, a square, auxiliary structures, and technical infrastructure. This project has been operational since 2017.

On average, each month, these two locations draw over 30,000 individuals to engage in physical exercise, study, recreation, and entertainment. Welfare markets for employees are also routinely organized here, where the Provincial Federation of Labor collaborates with businesses to offer goods at original and subsidized prices, assisting workers in saving money on essential items and supplies. Additionally, this venue hosts numerous activities organized by the Provincial Federation of Labor, including events for workers such as the "Workers' Singing Contest," badminton and table tennis competitions, and serves as a gathering place for workers, their children, and local residents.

Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, stated: “The Binh Duong Labor Cultural Center project in the Viet-Sing Residential Area, along with the Ben Cat Labor Cultural Center project, has received substantial support from Binh Duong province, which has provided land resources and 70% of the necessary capital, while the trade union organization has contributed the remaining 30% for construction investment. This level of support is exceptional; not every locality can replicate what has been achieved in Binh Duong.”

I recommend that the Binh Duong provincial Trade Union persist in advising the Vietnam General Trade Union, the provincial Party Committee, and the provincial People's Committee to implement additional key projects aimed at benefiting workers in the near future. Furthermore, it is essential to create more opportunities to enhance the material and spiritual well-being of workers, fostering a sense of security in their production roles and encouraging their commitment to the development of Binh Duong.

Towards employees

In 2024 and the Lunar New Year 2025, trade unions across the province will prioritize organizing a variety of activities aimed at enhancing the cultural and spiritual well-being of workers, tailored to the specific circumstances of each unit and enterprise. Over 2,000 cultural, artistic, and sports events have been coordinated by trade unions at all levels in collaboration with agencies, units, and enterprises, providing opportunities for workers to engage in competitions, performances, and tournaments.

A distinctive aspect of the initiative to nurture the cultural life of workers in Binh Duong, particularly at the labor cultural centers, is the organization of a diverse array of cultural, artistic, and sports activities integrated into various trade union events at all levels. This effort aims to address both the material and spiritual needs of union members and workers. Notably, at the Provincial Labor Cultural Center located in the Viet-Sing Residential Area of An Phu Ward, Thuan An City, numerous programs have been conducted, including a Workers' Singing Contest and badminton and table tennis competitions for employees. Additionally, in Binh Duong New City and its surrounding districts, football tournaments and singing contests for workers and civil servants have been organized to fulfill the recreational needs of the workforce.

Caring for the cultural and spiritual well-being of workers necessitates the collaboration of the entire political system. Recognizing this, numerous localities within the province consistently strive to provide optimal conditions for trade unions at all levels to organize cultural and sports programs. These initiatives aim to diversify entertainment activities in alignment with the province's objectives for 2025, with the goal of ensuring that each industrial park features at least one cultural activity area for workers and the establishment of one to two new labor cultural centers.
