Affirming the Youth Union’s role

With the theme of “Improving the quality of Youth Union”, “Youths in Binh Duong with creative business startup”, provincial Youth Unions at all levels last year made efforts in implementing the set programs and reached comprehensive outcomes.

Enhancing efficiency of education

Last year, provincial Youth Union Standing Committee focused on improving education work in both form and content among Youth Union members, especially attached special importance to implementation of studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality and lifestyle. This contributed to promoting a variety of effective and creative models in studying and following Uncle Ho’s teachings.

Provincial Youth Union also held quarterly propaganda conferences for more than 1,000 reporters of Youth Union branches; organized a competition “Being proud of Youth Union members”, a forum on students with five-good performances; disseminated the Directive No.05-CT/TW, the Directive No.42-CT/TW…

Possibly speaking, traditional education of provincial Youth Unions at all levels got in-depth development in association with national holidays, especially through “paying debt of gratitude” and “when drinking water, remember its source” activities, including activities in celebration of the 70^th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day, a journey “paying tribute to heroic Vietnamese mothers and policy beneficiary families”, a journey “I love Binh Duong”, a forum “Diary of Ho Chi Minh generation”, a program “lighting candles to pay tribute to heroic martyrs”…, thereby arousing patriotism and national pride among teenagers and children….Provincial Youth Unions at all levels also gained positive results in morality, lifestyle education and law dissemination.

Revolutionary action movements well realized

The local youths effectively implemented many volunteer campaigns, namely “Winter volunteer”, “Spring volunteer”, “Spring on border areas, Tet on remote islands”... Especially, they actively got involved in such practical activities as “Voluntary blood donation day”, “Civilized street with food safety”…, contributing to ensuring the local social welfare.

Under the movement of “Accompanying youths in setting up their position in life and themselves in business”, provincial Youth Unions at all levels gave strength to 10,000 poor-but-excellent pupils, students and young talents with a total value of approximately VND5billion; organized a festival on examination season consultancy and career orientation under the theme of “Making dreams come true”…

Provincial Youth Federation also well realized a task of uniting and gathering youths. Accordingly, provincial Youth Federation last year set up additional 23 branches at non-State companies; admitted another 5,838 members and established 5 clubs “Connecting young workers”. Many activities taking care of young workers were frequently implemented via programs such as “Beloved spring”, “Giving strength to young workers”, “Workers’ Month”, “Workers’ Week”…

Reportedly, the local youths last year carried out 150 flower gardens “youths following Uncle Ho’s teachings”; built 15 recreational sites for children at lodging facilities and in residential quarters; realized 150 activities on new rural and civilized urban construction; awarded 10,000 scholarships to pupils and students; contributed more than VND1.8billion to carrying out works “for the sentimental attachment to border areas and islands”. Provincial Youth Unions at all levels also registered to realize 78 district-level youth works with a total benefit of nearly VND 900million and 1,050 grassroots-level ones with a total benefit of approximately VND4billion, contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development.

Nguyen Tan Dat, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Youth Union cum Chairman of provincial Youth Federation said that last year, provincial Youth Unions at all levels last year made efforts in implementing the set programs and reached comprehensive results, especially activities in celebration of Youth Union congresses at all levels. Many creative and breakthrough activities continued affirming the role of the Youth Union, contributing to realizing targets on socio-economic development, maintaining national defence-security of the province.
