Ms. Luong Thi Ut was born in a revolutionary family with 4 heroic Vietnamese mothers, and one martyr. She is now cell secretary and Front committee’s head of Nguyen Trai quarter, Lai Thieu ward, Thuan An town, and is considered as an example of compassion.

When studying in university, she was selected to go training in the north. She was admitted to the Party in 1965. After graduating from Ha Noi Trade Union University, she returned to the south and worked for Southern Power Company in 1973. As retiring, Ms. Ut has lived at Lai Thieu ward and was elected as cell secretary and Front committee’s head of Nguyen Trai quarter.

When working at Southern Power Company, she adopted and brought up 4 orphans like her own children. At the present, her adopted children are mature and have their own families.

In 2000, when retiring, she built 4 gratitude houses worth VND170mln for veterans having difficult circumstance by her savings. After that, she built 4 more compassionate houses at Tri Phai commune and Tri Luc commune of Hong Dan district, Minh Hai province.

As Party cell secretary and Front committee’s head of Nguyen Trai quarter, Ms. Ut usually calls upon contributions, creates movements helping poor people. Along with the quarter’s management committee, she invited donations from benefactors to build 10 compassionate houses, repair 10 houses for poor people; organized holidays for disadvantaged children; gave free eye tests and surgeries and so on. She is now bringing up a child whose father is a veteran with difficult circumstance so that he can continue studying.
