On November 13, at Bung Cu Temple in Tan Phuoc Khanh ward (Tan Uyen Town), Tan Khanh Ba Tra martial art held their anniversary ceremony in 2022, with the participation of generations of students.
Vo Lam Tan Khanh Ba Tra originated from Tan Khanh (now belonging to Tan Phuoc Khanh ward of Tan Uyen town and Binh Chuan ward of Thuan An city), associated with an anecdote of a girl named Trà (who was a close soldier of woman general Bui Thi Xuan) took refuge in this land. Vo Lam Tan Khanh Ba Tra is a unique culture expressing the creativity of many generations of residents right from the beginning of their settlement, was formed and developed by the indomitable struggle spirit against the enemies and wild beasts to protect the villages.
Tan Khanh Ba Tra traditional martial art is also a vivid demonstration of the martial spirit of the Vietnamese nation, and the generous spirit of Southeast region’s folks. In 2020, Vo Lam Tan Khanh Ba Tra was included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage. In addition to Binh Duong province, so far Vo Lam Tan Khanh Ba Tra has been present in many provinces and cities throughout the country, with thousands of students.
On this occasion, generations of Vo Lam Tan Khanh Ba Tra disciples reviewed their tradition, formation and development of this traditional martial art. The anniversary ceremony took place with rituals, such as: incense offering ceremony to commemorate the Patriarch; martial arts performance. At this year's anniversary, the organizers also announced traditional song of the martial art; introduced the council of masters, and commended athletes who are students of Tan Khanh Ba Tra and had high results in traditional martial arts competitions and festivals.
