Announcement of decisions on organizational structure and personnel of XVI Regional Customs Branch

On the afternoon of March 15, the Customs Department under the Ministry of Finance held a conference to announce decisions on the organization of the apparatus and personnel work of the Customs Department of the XVI region (new name after merging Binh Duong provincial Customs Department, Binh Phuoc provincial Customs Department and Tay Ninh provincial Customs Department). The conference was attended by Pham Hung Thai, Standing Vice Secretary of Tay Ninh provincial Party Committee; Tran Van Mi, Vice Chairman of Binh Phuoc provincial People's Committee and Nguyen Van Tho, Director of the Customs Department.

At the conference, representatives of the Customs Department announced the Minister of Finance’s Decision No. 966/QĐ-BTC dated March 5, 2025, regarding the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Regional Customs Sub-Department under the Customs Department. They also announced the Customs Department's decision on the regulations for offices, divisions, teams and border & non-border customs checkpoints under the Regional Customs Sub-Department.

As a result of the restructuring, the General Department of Customs now has 20 regional customs branches nationwide. The Regional Customs Branch XVI is headquartered in Binh Duong and oversees customs operations across three provinces: Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh. The branch consists of 8 offices, divisions and teams, along with 16 border and non-border customs units. Nguyen Tran Hieu, former Director of Binh Duong provincial Customs Department, has been appointed as Head of the XVI Regional Customs Branch.

The conference also announced the decision of the Director of the General Department of Customs regarding the transfer and appointment of five officials to the position of Deputy Head of the XVI Regional Customs Branch. The appointed officials include Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of Binh Duong provincial Customs Department; Tong Quoc Thinh, Deputy Director of Binh Duong provincial Customs Department; Vo Thanh Ngoan, Deputy Director of Tay Ninh provincial Customs Department; Phan Van Dang, Deputy Director of Binh Phuoc provincial Customs Department and Nguyen Van Ngan, Deputy Director of Binh Phuoc provincial Customs Department. The appointments are effective from March 15, 2025.
