Assistance of scientific and technological development shows significant results

The Government’s Decree 119/1999/ND-CP on encouraging businesses to implement scientific research has been given priorities. Binh Duong is one of the localities leading in scientific and technological research.

Implementation of Decree 119

The policy is to encourage businesses to focus on technological innovation and product’s quality and competition capacity. Besides, implementing the supportive policy will help spur development of science and technology.

Leather tanning is one of sectors given expenses of tech-science application.

The policy’s beneficiaries include all businesses. Accordingly, the State will support a maximum of 30% of total cost of a research project for encouraged industries. However, projects and solutions for consideration of assistance must include factors of newness, science, efficiency…

From 2006 to 2010, scientific research and technological development in the locality showed remarkable signals. The number of projects increased 3.75 times from the previous years. Efficiency of applied research has created changes of capacity, quality and high result in industrial production, agriculture and service.

Good applied programs

In 2005, the local People’s Committee ratified a program to assist businesses joining in science and technology application. Possibly speaking, the decision concretizes Decree 119. Binh Duong has so far launched 11 tasks of tech-science research and application with the total value of VND22.5bil, VND5bil is funded by the State.

Besides, tech-science transfer in serve for local rural socio-economic development has contributed 17 projects relating to agricultural production.

Over years, the State has issued policies to assist businesses’ technological innovation and scientific research. On April 7, 2011, the local People’s Committee ratified a supportive program for business development in the 2011-2015 period. The encouraged-production sectors include garment, auxiliary industry, footwear, electronics, farm produce, rubber, paper, chemical, pharmaceutical product.
