Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu: I will try my best to support Binh Duong

Yesterday (March 3), provincial Party Committee held a conference to hand over a decision appointing Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, Deputy Head of the Cardiology Department under Hanoi Medical University, Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital as Director of provincial General Hospital. Talking to reporters of Binh Duong Newspaper after receiving the decision, Assoc. Prof.Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu said that he will try his best to support Binh Duong, especially in the development of medical human resources.

Touched by talent and virtue

At the decision-giving ceremony, many doctors and nurses were touched when Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu accepted the mission to support Binh Duong. Dr. Nguyen Hong Chuong, Director of provincial Department of Health shared that the support of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu to Binh Duong is a pride for the province's health sector. From that point, Binh Duong's health sector has one more leading expert to help "improve" the quality of public healthcare, especially at provincial General Hospital, which will later become a last-line hospital.

During the violent outbreak of the 4th Covid-19 pandemic, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu was reinforced from Hanoi to Binh Duong to prevent and control the pandemic. He actively contributed to the local Covid-19 fight, especially directly participated in the treatment of severe Covid-19 patients on the 3rd floor at Becamex International Hospital. During the days in Binh Duong, he went to each lodging facility, each isolation area to advise and guide treatment procedures for F0 cases. Talking about him, many people have deeply felt his talent and virtue in making efforts and joining hands with the medical sector.

At the ceremony, Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation said that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu is a leading expert in the medical sector. During the last 4^th Covid-19 outbreak, he made contributions to the province’s health sector in Covid-19 prevention and control, helping the local Party, government and people overcome Covid-19 pandemic.

Mr. Loi further shared that the fact of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu concurrently holding the position of Director of provincial General Hospital is unprecedented. With his talent and virtue, he was trusted and loved by the Party Committee, government and people of Binh Duong province. Mr. Loi wished that Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu will continue devoting his efforts and wisdom to taking care of people's health in the province, helping the local health sector become the frontline of the region. “Binh Duong province believes that with the talent and virtue of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu, the local health sector will become a bright spot of the region in terms of public healthcare in the near future”, he said.

Contributing to developing Binh Duong into a regional medical center

Talking to reporters from Binh Duong Newspaper after accepting the position of Director of provincial General Hospital, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu was very touched. He shared that Binh Duong’s people and climate are very wonderful. Binh Duong's economy also develops very strongly, being always at the top of the region. “For the health sector to develop in line with the local economic development, I accepted the invitation to help Binh Duong…,” said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu said that he will try his best and flexibly apply mechanisms and policies to support Binh Duong, especially in the development of health human resources. “As for the province's aspiration to become a regional medical center, we will support Binh Duong with all our heart. It is hoped that provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, other departments and sectors need to further support the local health sector so that the local public healthcare is always the bright spot of the whole country. And people in Binh Duong can be proud of a medical sector full of aspirations to rise up.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu was born in 1972 in Hung Yen province’s My Hao town. Currently, he is Deputy Head of the Cardiology Department under Hanoi Medical University; Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital; Director of the Cardiovascular Center under Hanoi Medical University Hospital and also holds the position of Director of provincial General Hospital. He is member of the 15th National Assembly, member of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs Committee
