Attaching special importance to law dissemination among non-State businesses

Provincial Labor Union has actively made law dissemination among non-State businesses, especially foreign invested ones, contributing to helping them reach sustainable development and raising laborers’ legal knowledge.

At a typical unit

With more than 5,400 laborers, the wholly foreign-invested Pungkook Saigon II Company at Di An town-based Song Than Industrial Park, specialized in manufacturing various bags and leather products for export, is a typical unit in making law dissemination among laborers, helping raise their awareness of rights-interests and responsibilities. This has made them actively take part in the movements of technical innovation, bringing the annual benefit of billions of dong to the company. Nguyen Huu Dung, Chairman of the company’s trade union local said: “Every month, the company’s Directorate organizes a lot of law dissemination activities for laborers, helping them realize their responsibilities in building up a harmonious labor relation through regulations on salary, social insurance, health insurance…”.

Diverse propaganda activities

Recently, law dissemination among laborers has been improved, which is seen as one of important contents done by provincial Labor Union, contributing to changing their awareness of law enforcement. This has also helped laborers raise their awareness of organization, discipline and self-defence during the working process.

Over the past three years, provincial Trade Unions at all levels continued delivering legal leaflets and books; organized 285 propaganda shows on the Law on Labor, the amended Law on Trade Union, the Law on Traffic Safety, the Law on Employment, the Law on Social Insurance, national islands and sea…

Provincial Trade Unions at all levels also attached special importance to legal consultancy for laborers, actively contributing to protecting their legitimate rights and interests. Provincial Labor Union’s Legal Support Office gave direct and indirect legal support for 159 cases. Noticeably, there was a diversification of law dissemination activities among laborers.

Bui Thanh Nhan, Chairman of provincial Labor Union said that over the past time, provincial Trade Unions at all levels opened hundreds of classes on law dissemination for laborers, thereby helping them raise their awareness of law enforcement, contributing to decreasing the number of labor disputes. But, many enterprises have not created advantageous conditions in terms of time for their trade union locals to make law dissemination among laborers yet.

For better results, provincial Labor Union will further improve law dissemination activities both in content and form; closely coordinate with the local mass media agencies, sector of labor, war invalids and social affairs to make this task in line with each targeted group, in which special importance is paid to non-State investment sector; simultaneously focus on improving grassroots trade union officials’ qualification…
