Avoiding being subjective, needing cooperation from the community

Update: 04-11-2021 | 10:57:17

Safe adaptation is the most important criterion set by the Government and the province to return to the "new normal" state. However, when the province has returned to the "new normal" state, there was a "relaxative" mentality in many people. During the present period, cooperation from the community is necessary to avoid the risk of pandemic outbreak.

Absolutely not being negligent and subjective

On October 22, provincial People's Committee issued a dispatch on temporary measures to safely, flexibly adapt to and effectively control Covid-19 pandemic in the province, including regulations on business activities corresponding to each pandemic level. However, after a short time of allowing reopening, besides many business owners and people who strictly implement "safe adaptation" measures to live with the pandemic, there are still a few of business owners and people with subjectiveness and neglectfulness about the implementation of pandemic prevention and control measures. This is one of the reasons why the number of F0 cases has increased sharply in recent days.

Particularly, on November 1, provincial Department of Health recorded 682 cases of Covid-19 (an increase of 10 cases compared to October 31). On November 2, the province logged 780 new cases through RT-PCR testing with full epidemiological information, an increase of 14.4% compared to the previous day. Notably, there were 75 cases detected at health facilities and 97 cases through community screening. In some cases, it is difficult for the local health sector to identify the source of infection because of having complicated living, traveling and transaction histories. Meanwhile, according to the recommendations of medical experts, with the spread of transmission that is many times faster than the test results to identify F0 cases with the Delta variant, under the "new normal" conditions, in addition to the vaccine, people need to follow "5K" measures as recommended by the Ministry of Health to protect themselves and the community.

People are absolutely not subjective, negligent, or lose their vigilance even though they have got full two shots of Covid-19 vaccine. Since reopening business and service activities, the province has continued recording thousands of new F0 cases, mainly in isolation and blockade areas. However, the detection of F0 cases in the community with an unidentified source of infection is an alarming problem for business owners of various types of food and entertainment services that gather in a large number of people. The people also need to further maintain vigilance, strictly implement measures against the pandemic.

Strengthening inspection and supervision

In a recent inspection tour by Thu Dau Mot city’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control at business and service establishments in the central area of the city, although making commitments and being requested to compel people entering and leaving to scan QR codes, many business owners often skip this step because of having subjective psychology and being fearful of "annoying" customers. Many people are still subjective that they have got full two shots of Covid-19 vaccine, so they can travel, eat and communicate comfortably.

When the city’s inspection team conducted an inspection tour at a restaurant on Thich Quang Duc street, Chanh Nghia Ward, there were 50 customers at this time and they did not volunteer to scan QR codes. Nguyen Trong Hieu, the owner of the restaurant explained that he was instructed and committed to scan QR codes among customers. But, he was not very drastic in asking for customers to do this because being fearful of "disturbing" them. When being reminded, he pledged to strictly comply with regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control. In addition, through inspecting many other business establishments, the inspection team also recorded a number of similar cases.

Tran Sy Nam, Vice-Chairman of Thu Dau Mot city People's Committee said that through inspection, most restaurants in the city have complied with regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control such as creating QR codes and having plans on Covid-19 prevention and control… However, leaders of the city also noted some problems for change. The owners of business and service establishments have not forced all visitors to make medical declarations through QR codes yet.

Through this inspection tour, the city will work with specialized agencies of the city and the People's Committees of wards to correct and guide owners of the business establishments to better implement Covid-19 prevention and control, ensuring that the city safely and flexibly adapts to and effectively controls Covid-19 pandemic under the “new normal” station", said Mr. Nam.

Talking to reporters, leaders of some other localities in the province also said that they have implemented plans to check the observance of regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control, including making medical declarations via QR codes among customers… at the local business and service establishments.

Since the fourth wave of Covid-19 pandemic, the province has recorded 235,293 cases of Covid-19. Among them, 10,516 were detected through examination at medical facilities, 26,727 cases in temporary isolation areas for people with positive rapid test results, 157,913 in blockade areas, 40,137 in the community (markets,  non-blocked areas). Up to now, there have been 232,010 Covid-19 patients recovered and discharged from hospital.
