Provincial People's Committee has just held a meeting to hear consulting units reporting about the "Eco-tourism, resort and recreation project of Cau mountain’s protection forest in association with Dau Tieng resoirve" in the period of 2021-2030. This is a key project in the strategic planning to develop a group of high-quality trade and service sectors in the province. According to the plan, the province will make planning for the Cau mountain relic complex with a total area of about 1,600 hectares in the 2021-2030 period, including 21 large and small mountains in the area of Dinh Thanh commune in Dau Tieng district into an ecotourist area in association with Dau Tieng reservoir, becoming an attractive destination for tourists.

Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Pernament Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee said that the goal of the project is to take advantage of natural potential to develop the local eco-tourism economic model. This model promises to bring significant revenue to the locality and people, step by step improving the quality of life of people in and around Cau mountain area.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, provincial leaders gave close and drastic instructions to departments, sectors and localities on considering reopening the local tourism activities. In order to stimulate the local tourism sector again, the province is also studying a plan to support enterprises and people to recover, gradually forming up and consolidate tourism models in line with exsiting potential and advantages.

Talking to us, Nguyen Thanh Tung, Vice-Chairman of Dau Tieng district’s People's Committee said that as planned from now to 2030, the locality will implement the following items: Planning and implementing a resort, a sport tourism area (mountain climbing, terrain cycling); tourism on natural and historic discovery for Cau mountain area; cultural and spiritual tourism at Thai Son pagoda; camping tourism ... in the complex of Cau mountain relic site. The district will also focus on building and developing suitable tourism products, such as: Community-based tourism with forest products, fruit trees and aquatic products on the protected forest land of contracted households under homestay or farmstay tourism models.

For the project to be really effective, contributing to the local socio-economic development, provincial leaders have proposed consulting units, relevant departments and localities to have planning solutions to ensure national defense and security. The work of compensation and site clearance needs to be done fairly, transparently and satisfactorily, avoiding complaints and lawsuits of the people, causing disorder... The investment and development of the project should ensure the Stat’s policy, not trade the environment for the economy, with the consensus of the community.
