Bac Tan Uyen district pays attention and perform well gratitude work

 As promoting the tradition of "drinking water, remember its source", in recent years, the District Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Tan Uyen district, communes, towns and people in the area have focused on performing acts of gratitude. Tan Binh town is the land of War Zone D - a revolutionary base in the two resistance wars against the French and the Americans. The town is currently managing records of 582 policy subjects. Tan Binh town always considers "repaying gratitude" one of the important tasks in implementing the local political, economic, cultural, and social tasks.

The Town Party Committee and People's Committee regularly pay attention and visit, give gifts, taking good care of the lives of beneficiaries and families of people with meritorious services to the revolution. Namely, the town has done well in providing monthly and one-time subsidies to beneficiaries; requesting to issue health insurance cards to policy beneficiaries; building a "gratitude" fund, building and repairing gratitude houses; campaigning to donate savings books to policy families; and regularly visiting and giving gifts to policy beneficiaries when they are sick, on holidays, New Year's Day, and July 27. In addition to providing full benefits as prescribed, the town also regularly gathers and records information, thoughts, and aspirations of policy families to share difficulties and offer timely support.

Huynh Van Tung, Chairman of Tan Binh Town People's Committee, said: “The Party Committee and authorities of Tan Binh town determine that the work of repaying gratitude and taking care of the lives of policy families and families with meritorious services is the central, top, regular and long-term job as performing local political tasks. Every year, on holidays, in addition to the State budget, localities also call on organizations, individuals, and the business community to contribute and support the Gratitude Fund to build and repair gratitude houses, donate savings books to policy families having difficult and sick circumstances. As of July 17, the locality mobilized 20 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, to be given to policy families having difficult circumstances."

Currently, localities of Bac Tan Uyen district are preparing to visit and give gifts to policy beneficiaries to ensure accuracy, sufficient, and timely delivery. Martyrs' memorials are cleaned and cared for to ensure a green, clean, and beautiful landscape for people to come and pay tribute to.

To thoroughly prepare for a meeting to celebrate the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Office of Bac Tan Uyen district advised the district People's Committee on plans with main content groups: to enhance educational propaganda, good and timely implementation of policies and regimes, and the entire district's continued striving to maintain the title of communes and towns that do well in the work of war invalids—martyrs and people with meritorious services; award certificates of merit to outstanding individuals who achieved the titles of "Model Citizen" and "Exemplary Revolutionary Family."

Up to now, 100% policy families have stable and good standards of living, many policy families even have high income levels, becoming examples of doing good business; 100% of communes and towns do well the work of war invalids - martyrs and people with meritorious services.

Nguyen Kim Nguyen, Deputy Head of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Office of Bac Tan Uyen district, said: “This year, the district organized 10 delegations of district leaders to visit and give gifts to families of wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and people with meritorious services to the revolution. According to the plan, the district will give 202 gifts to war invalids, sick martyrs' families, and those in difficult circumstances, with 606 million VND deducted from the district's social security fund. In addition, communes and towns also call on organizations and individuals to care for policy families and, based on the actual local situation, organize gratitude activities considerately and solemnly.

Tran Van Phuong, Vice Chairman of People's Committee of Bac Tan Uyen district, shared that in recent times, the work of repaying gratitude has been carried out regularly and continuously by departments, branches, and unions in the district and localities. The Party Committee, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district provide material and spiritual care with deep respect and sense of responsibility for the wounded, sick soldiers, families of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution. Along with the State's preferential policies, the district continues to maintain and enhance the job of caring for policy people through gratitude programs, which have profound political, social, and humanistic meaning.

Also according to Phuong, movements of "repaying gratitude", contributing to building and repairing "gratitude houses", donating "gratitude savings books", taking care of families of martyrs, sponsoring and supporting children of martyrs, taking care of heroic Vietnamese mothers, building Gratitude Fund are growing more widely and enthusiastically responded to by a large number of people from all walks of life, becoming a beauty in social and cultural life. The work of searching and gathering martyrs' remains and identifying martyrs' remains has been actively implemented.
