Banks continue sharing difficulties with businesses

2012 is predicted to continue being a year with difficulties for the banking sector. But, province-based credit organizations are determined to change the situation, reinforce their inner force and continue sharing difficulties with businesses, helping them stabilize and develop production.

 

Making efforts to overcome difficulties

 

Despite common difficulties, Binh Duong’s banking sector last year reaped good results with total mobilized capital reaching VND54.781trillion, up 18.33% and total outstanding loans estimated at VND49.021trillion, up 3.71%.

 

Credit for agricultural production, rural development, small and medium sized enterprises were also effectively implemented with total outstanding loans of VND791bln, up 12.66%...

Commercial banks last year made great contributions to the development of the local banking sector. Binh Duong-based BIDV branch was a typical example for this. The branch’s total mobilized capital increased by over 12%, total outstanding loans by 11% and pre-tax profit by over 20%... With such achievements, it won title of “top banner of the BIDV system” in 2011.

 

Meanwhile, some joint stock banks well fulfilled their tasks for 2011. For example, Binh Duong-based SHB branch, as of late 2011, reached more than VND800bln in total outstanding loans and more than VND17bln in profit…

 

Not only BDV, Vietcombank, SHB, many other credit units across the province also mobilized capital sources at economy’s demand for loans, contributing to promoting the local development.

 

Continuing sharing difficulties with businesses

 

In 2012, province-based credit organizations will continue seriously executing the instructions of the Government and the sector.

 

In addition, they will take some measures, including reinforcing inner force, improving service quality, promoting banking services for people in remote regions of the province. They will also reduce lending interest rates and implement supportive programs for businesses in the coming time.

 

Nguyen Thi Dung, director of Binh Duong-based BIDV branch said: “We intends to reduce lending interest rates and focus on supporting businesses by realizing a loan-giving program with interest rates of 17%-18% per annum…”.

 

Whilst, Binh Duong-based Vietcombank branch will always ensure that its lending interest rates are lower than the common levels of the market. Binh Duong-based Sacombank branch also said that it will give priority to providing loans for businesses that have good business plans with low risks.
