Mr. Nguyen Vo Duy Khuong, Deputy Director of Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) - Binh Duong Branch, said that Vietcombank Binh Duong is resolutely implementing biometric authentication (biometrics), thereby increasing human resources, arranging staff to work overtime on Saturdays and Sundays to support customers to complete authentication as soon as possible according to the roadmap set by the State Bank (State Bank) before January 1, 2025 in the individual customer segment (individual customers). Up to this point, the branch has completed biometric authentication for nearly 200,000 individual customers/650,000 individual customers who have opened CIF at the branch. At the same time, the branch has stepped up propaganda and guidance on updating authentication for institutional customers to continue supporting customers to complete before July 1, 2025 according to the roadmap prescribed by the State Bank of Vietnam.

According to Mr. Chu Lam Thai, Deputy Director of Information Technology Division of Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB), up to now, the number of customers who have performed biometric authentication has reached about 90% of the total number of customers who need to perform transactions. To achieve this result, as soon as the State Bank issued regulations, SHB established Project Team 2345 to carefully evaluate and select biometric solution providers and design the overall architecture on all application layers and related systems to avoid omissions. Smooth coordination and reasonable division of responsibilities between departments in the project are key factors that help the bank quickly complete biometric authentication.
To avoid disruption of transactions during the peak season at the end of the year, in the past 2 years, banks have upgraded the Core Banking system, considered the core of the banking information system. The new system allows banks to handle large transaction volumes, meeting the rapid growth of the bank and especially limiting the occurrence of overloads during peak periods. The system meets the requirements of business operations with high transaction growth (average 9-15 million transactions/day). In addition, some banks have opened additional separate payment accounts on digital channels, with transaction processing speeds increasing many times over. Banks also expand the diverse ecosystem of digital payment services to make it more convenient for users.
