Roadside business households in near-by residential areas were not abundant and diverse, did not met shopping demand of residents. Therefore, when Bau Bang Industrial Park Market - Shopping Centre was opened, we were very happy”.

Besides industrial development, Bau Bang district has implemented many solutions in order to exploit the available potential and strengths, calls for investment, develop commerce and service in the area. Currently, the average annual growth rate of Bau Bang district's total retail sales of goods and services has reached a high level. The network of markets, supermarkets, and shopping centres in the district has also continuously developed in both quantity and quality. Many markets were newly built, fully upgraded, and operated stably. Commodities are diverse and abundant; business activities take place vibrantly.

Currently, the district has 6 bank transaction offices, 9 markets (with 7 markets meeting new rural standards), 1 bus station with 42 vehicles operating on 19 routes; electricity and postal systems, telecommunications develop strongly and spread throughout communes and towns. The total number of business households is 8,754 households, with a total registered capital of nearly 2,000 billion VND.

However, the district has few large-scale local commerce service investment projects, most of them are still individual, small, unfocused, lack linkages and synchronous investment. Therefore, the district continues to carry out investment promotion to call for businesses, economic sectors, and individuals to invest in commerce services in the area in a synchronous and modern direction.

 Vo Thanh Giau, Chairman of Bau Bang District People's Committee: In the coming time, the district will continue to encourage businesses to invest in shopping centres, supermarkets, markets in concentrated residential areas, complete the system of farmers' markets, renovate and upgrade existing markets, encourage the development of a network of goods distribution agents and retail systems, distribute them harmoniously to meet people's consumption needs, and stimulate the local economic development.
