Bau Bang district to walk firmly on industrialization and modernization path

On August 5^th, Bau Bang district Party Committee officially opened the 11^th Party Congress (2015- 2020 tenure). During the last tenure and right after the district’s establishment (April 1^st 2014), Party and people of Bau Bang district have strived constantly for effective implementation of objectives set by Resolution. Thereby, economic – social condition has grown, local people’s life have been improved.

Heroic traditions

Nearly five decades ago, Bau Bang became a legendary name recorded into the national history, due to its glorious Bau Bang – Dau Tieng victory in the resistance war against the US. This victory was considered as an "iron fist" on the southern battlefield at that time, not only changing the face of battlefields, but also contributing to forming a new operational plan, that was “embracing the enemy’s waist and hit”. Bau Bang army and people contributed to the great victory of the country.

Not only famous for the battle against “Red Borther” army, this place was also with the name of Ben Tuong strategic hamlet (now is Ben Tuong hamlet, Lai Hung commune). Although war traces have faded away by the time, the struggle against the enemy’s grip at this strategic hamlet has resonated forever. Bau Bang victory monument, Ben Tuong strategic hamlet have been the pride of Bau Bang people, an address to educate younger generations on revolutionary traditions.

Mobilizing resources, utilizing potentialities

Bau Bang today has continued to make miracles. Everyone can easily notice changes, new vitality here. Besides rubber plantations, industrial parks, urban areas have been developed with increasingly upgraded electricity, roads, schools, medical stations system.

Promoting the heroic tradition, after its establishment, Bau Bang Party and people have constantly strived to overcome many challenges, implement tasks in accordance with of the district Party Resolutions. Particularly, socio- economic condition has grown steadily, economic growth was relatively high in the 2014-2015 period, restructuring was aligned to industry - service - agriculture. During the 2014-2015 term, industrial production value reached VND15,804 billion with an average growth rate of 9.74%. The district had 226 domestic investment projects with total registered capital of over VND3,251 billion and 39 foreign investment projects with total registered capital of nearly $356 million.

Besides industrial, trade - service development, agriculture has still played an important role. In the 2014-2015 period, agricultural production value reached VND3,293 billion with an average growth rate of 6.09%. Cultural - social fields were also promoted. Currently, the district has 28 schools including 11/25 public schools meeting national standards. 100% medical stations were built solidly, 5/7 communes meet national standards of health.

 According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Chi, Secretary of Bau Bang district Party Committee, the district was established in a gloomy economic context, thus the implementation of Resolution’s objectives encountered many difficulties. However, local Party set up goals in accordance with specific conditions; focused on key tasks, summarized regularly lessons learned. Additionally, Party Committee consolidated organizational structure, enhanced training for cadres, administrative reforms; strengthened education and propaganda of Party’s policies, State’s laws for all people… thereby, created a consensus among people, contributing to the successful implementation of local socio-economic goals.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Chi also said: “In the future, Bau Bang has many favorable factors for development. The adjustment of Binh Duong province socio-economic development planning until 2020, the addition to the planning until 2025 are conditions for the district to develop towards industry - service - agriculture; further improve economic efficiency accompanied with social development on the basis of key investment, building comprehensive infrastructure for industrial, urban and services development. Bau Bang is located on an important artery of the province (Highway 13), linked to Chon Thanh district, and have abundant land resource. Bau Bang industrial and urban zone is the highlight of development, welcomes domestic and foreign investments. Besides, the Government officially approved of the expansion of 1,000 ha for industrial development. Transportation system has been also improved, meets demands for travelling and transportation; administrative procedures reform has been gradually implemented well and created confidence from people.

In the new tenure, Bau Bang district Party Committee set up plans, namely: mobilizing resources, exploiting effectively potentialities, advantages for economic development, high growth rates, simultaneously solving well social problems; ensuring political stability, social security and order; restructuring towards industry - service - agriculture combined with ecological environment protection; implementing policies to encourage socialization in education and training, health and culture; enhancing leadership capacity of local Party Committee in the new stage of development; constructing, renewing, reorganizing the Party; strengthening and renewing leadership manners; building the political system in general, focusing on building the Party of political, ideological, organizational transparency and robustness.
