Bau Bang urban and industrial park, model of urban and industrial development

The northern region of the province has over time reached a rapid growth on industrial manufacture and urban areas. With its advantages in infrastructure, Bau Bang urban and industrial park has effectively absorbed investment projects and created a model of great promise in industrial, urban and service development.

Industrial manufacture on rapid growth

Along with making investment in infrastructure plus zoning industrial parks for foundation, the northern region of the province, especially Ben Cat district where the National Highway No.13 goes through has reached a rapidly growing industry with the birth of My Phuoc and Bau Bang industrial parks (Ips). After 10-year development, these Ips have created a breakthrough in investment attraction. They are now home to 390 FDI and domestic projects with a total investment capital of nearly US$3bln.

Bau Bang urban and industrial park has so far lured 38 investment projects with a total investment capital of US$236mln. Many businesses have spoken highly of Bau Bang’s infrastructure and traffic system, which is also an important eleven for their goods transportation.

Believing that Bau Bang will become a hub of fibre sector, KyungBang Vietnam Co.Ltd. under South Korea’s KyungBang Group put its fibre plant into operation at Bau Bang urban and industrial park with a total investment capital of US$ 40 mln in the first stage.

Since early this year, Bau Bang urban and industrial park has continued luring some investment projects. KyungBang Vietnam Co.Ltd. has also decided to raise its investment capital by US$54.2mln. Mr.Lee Kap Soo, General Director of the company said that along with advantages in terms of policies and workforce, Bau Bang’s well-built infrastructure was an important element for the company to make investment in this land.

Together with National Highway No.13, the Tan Van-My Phuoc expressway has contributed to creating favorable conditions for businesses’ goods transportation. To welcome opportunities from the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement (TPP) and facilitate businesses’ development, the province has also zoned and built a specialized industrial park in Bau Bang.

Urban development

According to the detailed plan at a scale of 1:500, Bau Bang district’s administrative center will locate at Bau Bang urban and industrial park in two communes of Lai Uyen and Lai Hung in current Ben Cat district.

This administrative center covers more than 91 hectares with total population of 59,308 people by 2020. It includes the Area A with the 34.4 hectare concentrated administrative center in Lai Uyen commune’s hamlet 5; the Area B with urban and social housing works at the center of Bau Bang industrial park of more than 56.6 hectares, the headquarters of township’s People’s Committee, district’s Police Agency…

The Bau Bang administrative center is zoned with 6 basic functions as the administrative-political center of the new district; the district-level trade-services center, the center of district-level urban services works; the housing area for social welfare with the best living space; the traffic center of the province’s northern region; the gateway of the province’s northern region.

With zoning towards industrial development in association with building a modern and civilized urban area, Bau Bang is making many advantages in investment attraction. Since early this year, many enterprises have visited Bau Bang to learn about the local investment climate. It is believed that Bau Bang will be known on the urban and industrial development map of Vietnam.
