Beca Smart City platform of Becamex IDC and Vietnam Technology and Communications Joint Stock Company (VNTT) received the only five-star excellent of the year 2023. This is the achievement of Becamex IDC and VNTT in their first participation in the Vietnam Smart City Awards 2023. After winning this award, the platform was successfully applied this into the construction of several industrial parks in Binh Duong.
Ngo Nhat Nhi receives the trophy and certificate of the Vietnam Smart City Award 2023 organized by the Vietnam Software & IT Services Association (VINASA).
Smart city management application
According to Ngo Nhat Nhi, Head of Research and Development Department of VNTT, as implementing the smart city project of Binh Duong province since 2016 and the orientation of developing green and smart industrial parks of Becamex IDC, VNTT has conducted research and developed a platform system with a unified integrated architecture for use in centralized management and operations of the smart city, officially called the Beca Smart City platform.
The focus of this application is to create a platform that can integrate information technology (IT) systems (financial management, city resources, etc.), operational technology (OT) systems (such as lighting, security cameras, water management systems, energy management, etc.) into engineering technology (ET), thereby unifying the entire database platform to serve centralized management and easy sharing.
The approach of the Beca Smart City platform is to create a system platform for many other systems, mainly serving departments and Intelligent Operation Centers (IOC) in zones, urban areas or industrial parks in Binh Duong in particular and Vietnam in general. VNTT shares typical interfaces of general management applications for smart industrial urban areas and specific applications for each specific category that are being used in practice by the Becamex IOC.
VNTT has applied the Beca Smart City platform to build and research solutions for smart industrial parks.
The goal of building the application interface of Beca Smart City is to provide a unified interface of multiple data sources from different applications, thereby helping the smart city management team to easily detect problems and make quick decisions based on the combined amount of data...
In October 2023, Binh Duong Innovation Region was officially honored by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) with the Top 1 award for its smart development strategy in 2023. Previously, Binh Duong was 5 consecutive times in Smart21; in 3 years (2021, 2022, 2023) in the Top 7 list. As one of the leading technology enterprises in Binh Duong province, in the Top 10 prestigious Vietnamese technology companies for five consecutive years (2019-2023), along with the Vietnam Smart City Award 2023, VNTT is confident to be the core unit for Becamex IDC Corporation and Binh Duong province to continue developing the province to a new height.
Initial success
“In the coming time, VNTT will continue to use the Beca Smart City technology platform for digital transformation and green transformation of industrial parks of Becamex IDC and VSIP ecosystems. VNTT will also provide comprehensive technology solutions to support businesses in Becamex IDC Industrial Parks to transform intelligently and produce more environmentally friendly products,” said Ngo Nhat Nhi, Head of the Research and Development Department of VNTT.” |
According to Ngo Nhat Nhi, after being honored at the Vietnam Smart City Award 2023, the Beca Smart City platform has been successfully applied to the construction of 6 smart industrial parks of Becamex IDC in Binh Duong and is being employed for VSIP industrial parks; at the same time, it is applied in the construction of smart factory projects for FDI enterprises. An example is the smart factory project of Orion Vina.
Successfully developing a centralized management solution for smart industrial parks and fully mastering the Beca Smart City platform technology helps to deploy all applications faster and save costs up to 60%. In addition, the platform also helps ensure data security, safety and quick access because all data is collected, processed and stored centrally through a unified platform; minimizes to zero the number of violations of environmental regulations; makes all operations transparent and reduces operating costs in industrial parks. Strictly manage energy consumption of buildings, factories, and lighting systems; reduce energy waste and increase equipment durability, aiming for zero net emissions by 2050.
