Becamex IDC and VNPT to sign comprehensive cooperation agreement

On Dec 14, Becamex IDC and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) signed a cooperation agreement to supply and use all services of each other to carter for development objectives in the 2015-2020 period. Attending the signing ceremony, there were Tran Thanh Liem, Deputy Secretary of Binh Duong province Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thanh Long, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Council; Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Hung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Board of Directors’ Chairman cum CEO of Becamex IDC; and Pham Duc Long, Board of Directors’ member cum CEO of VNPT.

A cooperation between two big names

VNPT is the enterprise that prepared the ground for the postal – telecommunications (TLC) sector in Vietnam, has a key role in making Vietnam become one of 10 countries with the highest speed in TLC - information technology (IT) development in the region and around the world. With an extensive, modern and synchronous TLC – IT infrastructure, VNPT has kept a leading role in accelerating socio-economic development, meeting requirements of users from urban to rural, border and island areas.

Becamex IDC and subsidiaries have been known as leading enterprises in Binh Duong province in the field of investment and infrastructure development of industrial parks (IPs). Becamex IDC has been investing and building successfully many IPs, urban areas, including big names, such as: Vietnam – Singapore IP, My Phuoc IP, Bau Bang IP… with totally thousands of hectares across the country.

Apart from comprehensive social technical infrastructure development, according to experts, TLC – IT infrastructure IT plays a very important role to connect information, trade activities, and helpfully serve daily activities of the people, the business community. This is also a key factor in investment attraction, contributing to provincial sustainably socio-economic development. Therefore, based on each side’s strengths and the common goal of sustainable cooperation and development, providing full utilities with best quality for customers, VNPT and Becamex IDC signed again the “Business cooperation agreement in the 2015-2020 period” in the field of TLC – IT in order to utilize potentialities and strengths of the two corporations, meet the development requirements to a strategic height.

Meet the increasing demands of customers

Nguyen Van Danh, Permanent Deputy CEO of Becamex IDC, said TLC – IT played an important role in stimulating the growth of industrial zones and new urban areas. Thus, Becamex IDC continued to promote a comprehensive cooperation in the coming period, especially in TLC – IT field. This was the second time that Becamex IDC and VNPT signed a strategic cooperation agreement to deliver the best TLC – IT services to partners, customers of Becamex IDC.

2010 marked a new and sustainable development in this relationship through “Comprehensive cooperation agreement in the 2010-2015.” This agreement was an important foundation for Becamex IDC and VNPT to show their dynamism and determination in coordination for mutual development. Achieved results in recent years were diverse, improved TLC – IT services meeting well needs of not only Becamex IDC, subsidiaries but also domestic, foreign partners. Becamex IDC, VSIP Joint Venture Company, and partners have developed many IPs in Binh Duong as well as in other provinces, cities. These IPs have become reputable names to domestic, foreign investors, attracted thousands of project, stimulating socio-economic development.

Keeping up the companionship

In the coming time, Becamex IDC will invest strongly in technical infrastructure improvement, like: clear, wide transport systems inside and outside IPs with a total length of thousands of kilometer; modern communications system at central urban areas in order to create harmonious relationships serving socio-economic, industrial - urban service development.

After 5-year partnership with VNPT, Becamex IDC had favorable conditions to improve major and synchronized infrastructure including IP, transportation but also social infrastructure with schools, hospitals, cultural, sport facilities, and social housing. Besides, VNPT and affiliates deployed quickly TLC – IT services to all Becamex IDC’s projects across the country. This partnership not only brought benefits to Becamex IDC and VNPT but also created a new power motivating the economic growth and integration.

Ngo Hung Tin, Deputy CEO of VNPT, confirmed the cooperative agreement between Becamex IDC and VNPT maximized advantages of each side and brought high efficiency, mutual benefits. Based on that, VNPT will continue to be a trusted partner of Becamex IDC projects, like: IPs, transportation, urban services, social housing, schools, hospitals…, especially the project of developing a new 4,000-ha industrial zone in Binh Duong. VNPT will continue to provide TLC – IT services for a developing logistics center to cater for goods transporting and warehousing demands in Binh Duong province.

Becamex IDC committed to cooperating with VNPT to provide high-quality services for international cooperation with many provinces and cities from abroad in terms of intelligent urban areas, high-tech IPs construction; thereby, attracting large corporations coming the Binh Duong for technology, resource exchanges, transfers in the new period.

TLC – IT play an important role in socio-economic development, contribute to the national industrialization and modernization. This event has a special meaning while Vietnam is preparing for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). PPC appreciated this cooperation, and believed that with acumen and creativity, the two units would achieve prescribed goals.
