On this occasion, Binh Duong Newspaper had a interview with Nguyen Trong An, Chairman of Ben Cat Town People's Committee, about Becamex IDC's path to assist the development of Ben Cat Town.

- Sir, what does the photo contest "Ben Cat accompanies Binh Duong development" mean for the Party, government and people of Ben Cat Town?

- Becamex IDC in collaboration with Binh Duong Newspaper hosted the photo contest "Ben Cat accompanies Binh Duong development", which can be said to be a very meaningful activity, an opportunity for the Party, government and people of Ben Cat Town to look back on the journey of the town accompanying the province, transforming itself from agricultural lands to urban areas, industrial production, and services. Images and photos of the contest are both valuable documents on the arduous and heroic development periods of the town, as well as a meaningful gift that recognizes the great contributions of previous generations of Party leaders, authorities, working people, and Ben Cat business community; and especially this is a practical activity to introduce the history, culture and people of Ben Cat in the preparation for the establishment of Ben Cat City. Through this photo contest, on the one hand, the Party Committee, the government and the people of the town look back on some economic, cultural and social achievements of the town over the past 25 years; new solutions are also developed on the road of construction and development of the province in general and Ben Cat in particular in the coming time.

The photo contest "Ben Cat accompanies Binh Duong development" is spreading among people in and outside the province. The town has organized many communication and propagation activities at agencies of the political system from the town to the grassroots and people's classes in and out of the town; and is carried out by many forms, such as to encourage the participation of civil servants in the contest; to post the contest information on websites, social networks, advertisement on mass media to create all favorable conditions for photographic associations, organizations, individuals to take part in the contest...

- Ben Cat has had a complete development transformation, especially in terms of infrastructure and development resources in many fields. How do you assess Becamex IDC's role in the development of the town in recent years?

- Formerly known as Ben Cat General Trading Company of Ben Cat district, after more than 25 years accompanying and developing with Ben Cat Town, Becamex IDC has a very important role in the socio-economic development of the province in general and of Ben Cat Town in particular.

Becamex IDC is a key enterprise in the development of the province's industrial and urban infrastructure. Over more than 25 years, Becamex IDC has been assigned by the provincial leaders as the investor of many large industrial parks and urban areas, such as My Phuoc 1, 2, 3, Thoi Hoa Industrial Park; to invest in arterial traffic routes, such as National Highway 13, My Phuoc - Bau Bang Highway, My Phuoc - Tan Van Highway..., to be the motivation and leverage for the transport system development, create interregional connectivity in general and connection between southern cities of Binh Duong and northern urban districts in particular.

In addition, the development of residential areas has created a safe environment for people in the area as well as surrounding areas, with a total land use area of more than 2,400ha together with the complete investment in transport system with about 85.8km of roads and technical infrastructure system, includes: 175.3km drainage system; 128.5km lighting system, 122km of water supply pipes. The total investment is about VND 2,922 billion.

Becamex IDC has joined hands with the town in creating a land fund to develop public projects of commercial services and utilities to serve the community, and made great achievements in socio-economic development for the locality. Some examples are Exhibition Convention Center and Square of Ben Cat Town, My Phuoc 2 Theater, attracting FDI investors to the development of local commercial centers ...

Becamex IDC's contributions is most evident through the fact that Ben Cat has been recognized by the Ministry of Construction as a class-three urban area under Binh Duong province; wards and communes met criteria and are recognized by the province as class-one administrative level; at the same time, the town is strengthening the criteria and standards to complete objectives of the town Party Resolution No. 12-NQ/DH, tenure 2020-2025, and aiming to set up An Dien ward, An Tay ward, and Ben Cat city under Binh Duong province in 2022.

- With the investment in infrastructure of many industrial parks, how will Becamex IDC continue to create motivation for the development process of Ben Cat Town in the coming time, sir?

- Currently, Ben Cat Town has basically completed the socio-economic development plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision until 2050; in which, the nature of each period is determined as follows: In the period of 2021-2030, urban development will be oriented towards industry - services – agriculture, and the first step of development will be transport hubs; in 2031- 2040 period, urban development towards industry - services - transport hubs; in 2041-2050, urban development towards services - green industry - transport hubs.

Besides, Becamex IDC is currently implementing a number of key projects to motivate the development of Binh Duong in general and Ben Cat in particular, such as: Investment project of An Tay river port and An Tay resettlement area; urban - service - high-tech industry zone in My Phuoc ward and Phu Hoa ward with total area of more than 500ha; Binh Duong Smart City project approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 3206/QD-UBND dated November 21st 2016... The above projects are in line with the development orientation of Ben Cat Town to continue utilizing the town's strengths in industry and services.

Specifically, in the short term, it will be the motivation to consolidate the criteria and standards to fulfill objectives of Resolution No. 12-NQ/DH and aims to set up An Dien ward, An Tay ward, and Ben Cat city under Binh Duong province in 2022. In the long term, Ben Cat Town orients towards a modern, civilized, clean, environmentally friendly city and improve people's living standards; this will be the premise for Ben Cat urban area to meet class-one criteria of urban classification until 2050 and continue to become Ben Cat smart city.
