“Being close to the people, helping the people” of Ben Cat town to be increasingly practical

In order for the movement of following uncle Ho’s teachings to be more practical and profound, Ben Cat town Party Committee has met people to help people from the very small things…

Facts from locality 

On first days of the New Year, officials, cadres of An Dien commune, Ben Cat town visited Ms. Nguyen Thi The living at An Son hamlet. Her family was a poor family, they had to work hard to bring up their kids. Thus, the day of giving compassionate house was a memorable day to her family. Ms. The said: “Thanks to supports from local officials, cadres, we have now a house. I would like to thank you so much, I would try harder to work, bring up my children, and escape from the poverty”.

An Dien commune Party Secretary Nguyen Van Thanh said, implementing the model of “Being close to the people, helping the people”, An Dien commune Party Committee directed to helped Ms. The’s families as well as other poor families overcoming difficulties, stabilizing living. Purposes of the model were to educate officials and Party members on continuous virtues cultivation, building close relationships with the people; to be close to people, understanding people, help people, and serve for benefits of the people.

Cadres of An Dien commune helped people to build roads, clear bushes.

Monthly, members of commune Party Executive Committee, chairmen, vice chairmen of People’s Council, People's Committee visit at least one household in their area. Every cadre has a diary to record his or her visit. The diary then must be carefully preserved and archived.

“During the visit, some people’s questions were answered on the spot. Some questions were recorded into diaries to report to higher levels for solutions. Results of people’s petitions will be announced at periodic voter meeting”, said Mr. Thanh.

Helping people with more practical things 

Implementing this model, in 2014, Ben Cat town cadres visited 563 households. Ben Cat town Party Standing Committee’s member cum Propaganda & Training Committee’s head Do Trong Nhon said: “In order for following moral example of uncle Ho to imprint in mind and behaviors of cadres, town Party Committee built up the model “Being close to the people, helping the people”. Through meetings, visits, cadres not only learn about people’s aspirations but also disseminate guidelines, policies of the Party, State, encourage people to build up the Party, government, encourage people to study and follow uncle Ho’s moral example. Conversely, people’s opinions, criticism of cadres’ ethics and lifestyle have helped governmental bodies to evaluate correctly quality of cadre”.

Due to this model, there were 466 people’s opinions contributing to building the Party, government, Front and unions. Most people expressed optimism, confidence in the leadership of the Party and State to build the country to be more prosperous. Besides, people also petitioned for installing low-voltage power lines, drainage systems, building rural roads, secure social safety and order, simplify procedures for policy families…

Due to the model  “Being close to the people, helping the people”, many new models emerged and succeeded, like: “Hanging Vietnamese map", “Monthly flag salute”, "," Hanging pictures of uncle Ho”, " Preserving the environment, rural water "... Many Party cells have implemented models effectively bringing positive effects, such as: helping families in difficult circumstances, borrow funds to develop family economy without interests, visiting colleagues having illness, difficulties, collect garbage on the roads, repair rural roads…

In order for the model  “Being close to the people, helping the people” to become a practical and meaningful work, Mr. Do Trong Nhon said, municipal Party Committee would follow subject of year 2015 “"Study and follow the Ho Chi Minh’s moral example of honesty, responsibility; stick with the people; unite and build the Party to be transparent and strong”, the implementation of the Central’s Resolution 4 (term 11); all for the success of the Party Congress, the 12^th National Party Congress.
