25 years of construction and development, with breakthrough policies in socio-economic development, Binh Duong has achieved many proud achievements. The result reflects the promotion of revolutionary tradition, especially the spirit of the 1975 spring great victory, which is reflected by the efforts, creativity, and persistent determination of the entire political system, people from all strata and business community in the province. This is also the basis for the province to confidently continue in a new journey for sustainable development towards a smart, civilized and modern city.

Overcoming challenges

2021 was the first year to implement the Resolution of the 11th provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure and the Resolution of the 13th national Party Congress. In addition to new opportunities, the province also faced many challenges, especially the 4th Covid-19 wave that seriously affected people’s health and enterprises’ production-business activities. Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee drastically directed the task of strengthening Covid-19 prevention and control; sped up vaccination for people and workers. Thanks to drastic solutions in Covid-19 prevention and control, Binh Duong, from a locality heavily affected by the pandemic, soon controlled the pandemic, well implementing a policy of safe, flexible adaptation and effective control of Covid-19 for socio-economic recovery and development.

The recent scientific workshop on “following the tradition, Binh Duong with a quarter- century journey: Achievements and prospects" has clarified the local achievements, learnt from experience and opened up many ideas for sustainable development

In 2022, the province has continued well controlling the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, creating favorable conditions for the local socio-economic development. Developing into new heights

On April 26, provincial People's Committee in collaboration with Becamex IDC held a ground-breaking ceremony for the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 13. This is the main traffic axis connecting Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc and the Central Highlands provinces with Ho Chi Minh city. Therefore, the route plays a very important role in the local socio-economic development. The implementation of the expanded National Highway 13 project is a step to concretize the province's policy on perfecting infrastructure, especially transport infrastructure connecting the province and the region. Currently, many important traffic routes with inter-regional connectivity, namely North Tan Uyen - Phu Giao - Bau Bang arterial road, the belt roads 3, 4 and Ho Chi Minh city - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway are under construction and are about to be deployed. Once being completed and put into operation, these key traffic routes not only contribute to improving people’s capacity of goods transportation and travel, but also contributes to developing Binh Duong province into a civilized and modern city of the southern key economic region, with great pervasion to neighboring localities.

Prior to that, the Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park III was started construction. The project not only helps the overall development of the local industries and services, but also promotes innovation, creating a premise for the industry 4.0 and sustainable development.

In parallel with socio-economic infrastructure development, the province has further tapped the local economic advantages and high urbanization rate to raise the level of development of smart satellite cities; synchronized connection with Ho Chi Minh city both in terms of traffic infrastructure and digital infrastructure, contributing to attracting high-quality human resources. In addition, the province will continue implementing foundation projects and set up a smart city development project for the next phase of 2022-2026, with focus on innovation, Industry 4.0, green and smart growth. This will be an important driving force for Binh Duong to recover after Covid-19 pandemic, making a breakthrough to welcome the 4.0 era.

Speaking at the scientific workshop: "Following tradition, Binh Duong province with a quarter-century journey: Achievements and prospects", Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee said that a quarter century in the journey of both creating and always posing itself with challenges, daring pioneer in innovating and creating breakthroughs in order to get rid of the image of a difficult locality being the aspiration and determination of generations of leaders and every citizen in the province. Binh Duong will continue posing new challenges and realize them on the basis of flexibly and creatively applying guidelines and policies, perceiving and applying modern sci- tech achievements, seeking cooperation from other localities, countries and territories to continue developing to new heights; strive to successfully implement the Prime Minister's direction on building "a new-generation industrial ecosystem”, associated with the 4th industrial revolution, inclusive, sustainable, smart and green development, leaving no one behind.

“...Binh Duong is in a ready position for the race to a new peak of development from now to 2030, with a vision to the middle of the century. Binh Duong will be one of the first provinces that need to overcome the middle-income trap in order to continue being a model for other localities, creating the motivation for the whole country to achieve the goal of becoming a developed country with high income in 2045, realizing the aspiration of rising up to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the powers in the five continents…”.
