Update: 08-08-2013 | 00:00:00

Ben Cat district has always maintained its industrial growth. Despite economic difficulties, the district in the first half of the year still achieved many basic targets. Binh Duong Daily has just had an interview with Nguyen Huu Chi, Chairman of Ben Cat district’s People’s Committee to know more about this. He said:

In 2013, implementation of tax exemption and reduction policy has greatly affected the district’s State collection. Anticipating that there are a lot of difficulties, the district has mobilized all resources to well realize tax collection. Thus, the district basically fulfilled and exceeded many targets set out by the district’s People’s Council in the first half of the year.

Could you tell us about detail figures?

In the first half of 2013, the district’s State budget collection reached good results in the non-State investment sector. This showed that there was a good recovery in investment attraction from non-State businesses, especially FDI ones. In the first half of the year, there was a threefold increase in the number of investment projects compared to 2012. Particularly, the district absorbed 31 domestic investment projects with total registered capital of VND59bln, up 37.5% compared to the corresponding period last year and 20 FDI ones capitalized at US$237mln, a threefold increase compared to the corresponding period last year. District-based enterprises were also very active to recruit laborers during the period. This is seen as a good sign for them in the coming time.

Also during the period, the district’s total production value was estimated at VND25.5trillion, a year-on-year increase of 15.23%. Of these, industrial production value achieved VND21trillion, up 13.5%. This is seen as a positive sign amid current difficulties while showing that tax exemption and reduction policy has upheld its effectiveness. Noticeably, district-based enterprises in industries of garment, textile, footwear, woodwork…have increased their production activities because they have absorbed many orders from now till year-end.

Are district-based enterprises on good recovery?

District-based enterprises have so far overcome difficulties and are now on good recovery. Especially, there has been a rapid recovery for enterprises in the field of trade. The district’s total retail sales of goods in the first half of 2013 reached VND3.142trillion, a year-on-year increase of 40%. The district also granted business certificates for 455 individual business households with total registered capital of more than VND91bln.

What are the district’s key tasks from now till year-end?

Amid current difficulties, the district will mobilize all resources to well fulfill its targets on socio-economic development and State collection in 2013. The district will also focus on excelling its spending task, especially in fields of education, health, infrastructure…It is sure that the district will successfully make 2013’s targets set out by the district’s People’s Council.

Thanks a lot!
