After five-year implementation of the Resolution No.20 of the 10th Party’s Central Standing Committee on “Further building up the Vietnamese working class in the period of intensified industrialization and modernization”, Ben Cat district has reached many important achievements, contributing to building up a strong workforce.

Laborers’ benefits ensured

Ben Cat district is now home to 1,393 enterprises with more than 114,600 laborers. The district has set up a steering board to deal with laborers’ urgent matters under the Resolution No.20 of the 10th Party’s Central Standing Committee on “Further building up the Vietnamese working class in the period of intensified industrialization and modernization”.

Especially, the district-based enterprises’ implementation of the grassroots democratic regulation has helped laborers actively work. So far, there have been 84% laborers with labor deals and around 95% of district-based enterprises registering their working regulations and setting up their payrolls for laborers.

In response to the “Workers’Month” and “the provincial Week for Young Workers”, the district’s Youth Unions at all levels over time visited and presented gifts to laborers with extremely difficult circumstance. Ha Van Hieu, from central Thanh Hoa province, who was hit by an accident at workplace in the district said: “The attention of authorities at all levels is a motivation for me and my family to overcome difficulties and rise up”.

Nguyen Van Lam, Chairman of Ben Cat district’s Labor Union said that trade locals across the district have paid more attention to law dissemination among laborers while giving consultancy on reproductive health, marriage-family, how to discover and prevent some sexually-transmitted diseases…for them.

Vocational training promoted

Ben Cat attached special importance to giving vocational training for laborers via many significant programs over the past time. The whole district now has 70% of laborers with common skills and 10% with high skills.

In addition, the district-based enterprises actively improved laborers’ skills at production requirements. Many emulation movements, namely “Working well”, “Studying to improve laborers’ qualification in all aspects at industrialization and modernization’s requirements”…, were formed up.

Nguyen Thanh Liem, Head of provincial Public Relations Committee spoke highly of the district’s implementation of the Resolution No.20 of the 10th Party’s Central Standing Committee on “Further building up the Vietnamese working class in the period of intensified industrialization and modernization”.

Also according to him, the district should attach special importance to promoting the development of trade union organization among non-State enterprises; providing accommodations and jobs for laborers, contributing to taking good care of laborers’ spiritual and material lives. These efforts will help laborers have a long attachment with Binh Duong homeland.
