Ben Cat Town: Socio-economic sectors develop favorably

Over the first 9 months of 2022, People's Committee of Ben Cat Town performed key tasks, adapted safely, flexibly, and effectively to the new normal situation. Thereby, the local economy continued to recover and develop stably.

Maintain growth

The highlight in the past 9 months is that important economic growth indicators increased over the same period last year, total production value reached 76.45%. Public investment planning and disbursement received much attention and were done according to the plan. A project to establish An Dien ward, An Tay ward, and Ben Cat city in Binh Duong province was accelerated. In addition, the town focused on social security, well performed education, health care, and ensured political security and social order.

Right from the beginning of 2022, the Town People's Committee strenghthened directing, thoroughly grasping situation, and strictly implementing documents of the Central, Provincial People's Committee, Town Party Committee, and Town People's Council on socio-economic development, defense - security. However, there were some difficulties due to the world situation, the region had many new and unpredictable developments, which have had a significant impact on the speed of economic recovery and development. The town directed branches and localities to actively develop detailed plans, stick to each goal of working programs. The Covid-19 situation has been carefully controlled, the economy - society, defense - security sectors in 9 months of 2022 achieved good results.

The town set a goal of total production value of the last 3 months 2022 to reach about VND54,810 billion, the whole year reached over VND232,701 billion. In which, industrial production strives for a production value of about VND38,767 billion, the whole year reaching VND168,553 billion. The town continues to monitor and update the local investment situation and implement supporting policies on small and medium-sized enterprises, strives for a total state budget revenue from production business to reach VND127 billion, local total budget revenue VND74 billion, total budget expenditure VND67 billion.

Overcome existence, achieve goals

Nguyen Trong An, Chairman of Ben Cat Town People's Committee, affirmed that in the past 9 months, the town achieved many positive results, which are agreed and highly appreciated by the mass. However, the town's economy still faces many difficulties and challenges. Planning work was still behind schedule, although the public investment was strongly implemented, the disbursement rate was still low, especially in local communes and wards. The attraction of human resources in medical and education sectors received attention but has not met the needs of local development. Some cases related to land and construction did not been resolved completely. The review and completion of criteria and standards was intensified to complete the project of establishing An Dien ward, An Tay ward, and Ben Cat city in Binh Duong province; however, due to problems with regulations, execution progress was affected.

Therefore, in the coming time, Nguyen Trong An asked departments, branches, and localities of the town continue to create favorable conditions for investment attraction and socio-economic growth. Ben Cat Town will concentrate on directing, promoting responsibility, and making the highest determination to strongly improve investment and business environment, solve difficulties, and accelerate the execution of key projects; step up the re-establishment of urban order, solve spontaneous housing zones according to a set plan; regularly mobilize, propagate, and remind to raise legal awareness and law observance in fields of construction and urban order.

On the other hand, the town will review and complete public investment portfolio for 2023, adjust the medium-term public investment portfolio 2021-2025; conduct the inspection of observance of environment and water resource laws at enterprises in the town. Besides, the town strengthens the prevention, combat, and control of diseases on livestock and poultry; inspects the supply market of essential goods, combats smuggling and trade fraud.

Bui Minh Thanh - Secretary of Party Committee, and leaders of People's Committee of Ben Cat Town have recently visited and worked with Nutifood Binh Duong Joint Stock Company (My Phuoc I Industrial Park). At the meeting, the company representative gave a quick report on the company’s operations. Nutifood factory has a total area of 14 hectares, including office area, warehouse area, production area, and utility area. The factory has 730 employees working in different departments. In the past 9 months, the company could not recruit enough workers to meet production need, affecting the productivity. The company recommended the local government assist and accelerate administrative procedures for low-income workers to buy housing in Ben Cat town, stay with the company for a long time; needs a channel to offer advice on preferential loan packages for employees…

Bui Minh Thanh highly appreciated the production recovery after the pandemic at the company. Regarding the company's recommendations, Bui Minh Thanh directed the town police to coordinate with the company to investigate, clarify, and strictly handle high interest loans, strengthen security. Ben Cat Town will also create all favorable conditions for workers to access preferential loans to buy social housing for settlement, contributing to local economic development.
