Ben Cat town to advance on the way of industrialization

On May 9, the Party, government and people of Ben Cat town honorably received the second-class Labor Medal. This is a noble title that the Central Party, State awarded to Ben Cat town for outstanding achievements in labor, creativity, building and protecting the country.

Promoting traditional heroes

In recent years, implementing the Party’s renewal policies, Ben Cat town Party, government and people have united to successfully implement tasks of socio-economic development, defense - security as well as in building the Party, the government, the Front and unions. Previously, Ben Cat land and people highly upheld the revolutionary heroism and indomitable patriotic tradition in resistance wars against enemies. Then in peacetime, the Party, the government and people of Ben Cat town have also promoted the spirit of creativity, labor heroism, enhanced local socio-economic development. Ben Cat land and people have transformed from an agricultural land to a bustling industrial center with many industrial park (IPs), for example, My Phuoc 1, 2, 3 IP…, attracting many domestic and international firms to invest in here.

In the 2010-2015 period, the annual average growth rate of Ben Cat town reached 13.5%, in which industry increased 16.94%, services 33%, agriculture 2.41%. As of early 2016, economic structure of the town shifted in the right direction and achieved industry (83.92%), services (15.43%), agriculture (0.65%). GDP per capita reached VND62.9 million / person / year. The new rural construction in An Tay, Phu An, An Dien ... has shifted of the agricultural sector to urban agriculture, high-tech agriculture. Social security, taking care of policy beneficiaries, creating jobs, public security and order ... have been taken good care.

A highlight of Ben Cat’s growth is always creating an open investment environment for businesses, investors. Apart from available strengths, Ben Cat town has paid much attention to investing in power, road, school, station systems, capital construction, green - clean - beautiful urban city. Therefore, Ben Cat town has absorbed many investments worth totally more than VND14,500 billion and $4.3 billion from foreign and domestic enterprises.

Striving to become an industrial center

Ben Cat Party Secretary Mr. Nguyen Hong Khanh said, local Party had focused on the leadership, direction and implementation of solutions to socio-economic development, defense – security, and construction of the political system. Local Party has concentrated on 4 strategic projects to implement Ben Cat town Party Resolution, like: Improving the quality of human resources; new rural construction; improve the quality of urban renovation; investing, developing cultural institutions in the 2016-2020 period.

Talking about socio-economic achievements, Mr. Nguyen Hong Khanh said, those resulted from the solidarity power and unanimity within the Party, the support, joined hands of the people and business community. Thereby, socio-economic growth of the town was stable and obtained high growth rates. “In the coming time, local Party identified the correct position, role, and potential of the locality in the general socio-economic growth orientations of the province in the next 5 years and following years, Ben Cat town would be a key area for industrial development of the province, strives to maintain the pace of economic growth towards stable and sustainable way”, said Mr. Khanh.

According to Mr Khanh, Ben Cat Party will direct the industrial development associated with urban and service development; ensure the harmoniousness, the link between economic regions of the province; continue to enhance cultural – social sector to be equal to the socio-economic development; effectively settle social welfare policies and strengthen national defense - security, secure political security, social order and safety; make synchronous investment to complete the socio-economic infrastructure; create a link between rural and urban areas; attract and select investment projects with high level of technology and investment; focus on increasing the proportion of auxiliary services to support key industries; cultivate  human resources; strive to become a district of Binh Duong City directly under the Central by 2020.
