Ben Cat town to promote traffic safety propaganda

So as to ensure traffic safety in the locality, Ben Cat town Traffic Safety Division decided to drastically implement the resolutions, of which, propaganda is focused.

To promote propaganda effectiveness

Senior Colonel Huynh Van Thanh, Police Chief of Ben Cat town and permanent Deputy Head of local Traffic Safety Division, informed that the traffic law dissemination was so vital that sub-divisions of traffic safety across towns, wards, and communes have drastically disseminated the law through direct and indirect channels of Zalo, Facebook, among others. The law dissemination has transformed and improved public awareness of law observation upon participating into the traffic.

Traffic police force is making regular patrols to preserve traffic safety in Ben Cat town

According to Senior Colonel Thanh, the spread of social networks will bring positive effects. As a matter of fact, the town police established the Facebook page of Ben Cat town Police and published hundreds of articles propagating the CPV guidelines and State's policies and laws in association with the public work to ensure traffic safety in the area. Recently, the town's Police has launched a contest of learning about traffic safety laws in the form of mini-games on Facebook, which is a new form of propaganda suitable for the current situation when most people are on Facebook. The contest attracted the interest and interaction of many people from all walks of life.

In addition, the town police force organized 105 direct law dissemination sessions with over 30,000 attendees, and distributed 5,000 leaflets propagating the law on traffic safety, hang 40 banners and 10 banners on major roads in the past 8 months. Especially in September, traffic safety propaganda for students at all levels has been implemented as directed, and the Traffic Safety Division and the town police have cooperated with schools to disseminate the Road Traffic Law to all students and teachers who sign commitment to ensure traffic safety.

To refine infrastructure

According to Senior Colonel Thanh, in addition to propaganda to raise the awareness and responsibility of each citizen, the upgrading of infrastructure is also focused on curbing accidents. Over the past time, leaders of the People's Committee of Ben Cat town have directed the units to ensure the progress and to improve the quality of construction investment and to upgrade the transport infrastructure system in association with maintenance and repair to ensure traffic safety. Acts of encroaching on road safety corridors with potential risks of causing traffic accidents will be strictly sanctioned.

On the other hand, to ensure traffic safety, attention must be paid to the traffic sign system. Based on the review of the road traffic signal system, the Urban and Town Management Division in collaboration with the People's Committees of communes and wards regularly inspect the system and plan for quick repair and replacement of inappropriate signs that had been damaged or blurred.

“Currently, in the industrial parks of My Phuoc 1, 2, 3, some problems need overcoming soon. At roundabouts, edges should be painted to reduce speed; some road surfaces need repairing and installing medians, lights, speed limit and intersection signs with priority roads. Traffic lights are to reduce traffic accidents happened to workers in the industrial parks,” said Senior Colonel Thanh.
