Update: 24-08-2017 | 11:23:09

Collective economy has made more active contributions to the development of localities in the province. For collective economy well upholding its role, Ben Cat town has deployed many support policies for this kind of economy.

Well tapping potential

Ben Cat town has so far had a total of 5 cooperatives on transportation-construction, tourism and services in operation, namely Thanh Long, Anh Hao, Ben Cat, Binh Duong and An Tay. Among them, 2 have changed and worked under the 2012 Cooperative Law. There are also 11 cooperative groups on agriculture, animal husbandry and cultivation with 99 members.

This is an orchid-growing model in Ben Cat town’s An Dien commune

Through emulation movements, town-based cooperative groups and cooperatives have well tapped their potential, expanded production-business and boosted the linkage with organizations…, bringing hi-economic efficiency to them.

Thanh Long Transportation-Construction and Civil Engineering Cooperative in My Phuoc ward is one of the town’s effective collective economic models. On average, the cooperative reaches the annual revenue of between VND25billion and VND30billion. It also generates jobs for more than 120 laborers with the average income of between VND7million and VND8million.

Nguyen Van Dien, Director of the cooperative said that the cooperative’s targets on profit in 2016 obtained a 110%-160% increase compared to the previous years. To achieve this result, the cooperative bravely innovated production technologies to raise productivity and save fuel costs at units’ demand for production and business.

Soon redressing shortcomings

According to Vo Tran Da Thao, Deputy Head of Ben Cat town’s Division of Economics, the town’s collective economy continued reaching development over the past time. Town-based cooperatives were proactive to seek many different capital sources to develop their production-business activities. Many also made contributions to the local socio-economic development.

However, town-based cooperatives have also faced shortcomings on capital, workforce, scale…for change.

Mrs.Thao added that the town’s functional agencies will continue mobilizing existing cooperatives to work under the 2012 Cooperative Law; encourage them to expand their non-agricultural scopes pertaining to environmental hygiene, market services…

It is known that the town established additional 2 cooperatives on transportation, construction and agriculture in the first half of 2017. In the coming time, the town will also continue setting up An Tay tourism cooperative; take measures to improve the effectiveness of cooperative groups towards developing them into cooperatives with sustainable and robust development.
