Making efforts in public relations task

One of highlighted activities made by the Veterans’ Society of Binh An ward in Di An town over the past time was urban rejuvenation. Accordingly, nearly 100 cadres and people have donated their land, workshops, plants… valued at billions of dong for construction of rural roads. This has contributed to creating favorable conditions for the local people’s traveling and economic development.

For example, the inter-quarter road Noi Hoa 1 and Binh Thung 1 with 215 meters in length and 6 meters in width was funded by the local people. The ward’s Veterans’ Society and its affiliate at Noi Hoa 1 quarter over time mobilized 28 households to donate 451 square meters of land and 860 square meters of workshop and fence valued at more than VND3bln for rural road making.

Veteran Tran Hong Chi is one of the ward’s Veterans’ Society’s members excelling at mobilizing the local people to making contributions to the society. He has also donated his 100 meters of land and mobilized many other people to take part in land donation for rural road making.

Creating high consensus

Along with urban rejuvenation, Binh An ward’s Veterans’ Society has mobilized donors to get involved in many substantial movements, including making contributions to the local “Paying debt of gratitude” fund, presenting gifts to poor alien workers and excellent pupils who are the offspring of members...The society has so far set up a loan support fund with more than VND100mln, providing members with non-interest rate loans for economic development.

Many exemplary role-models in the local movements of “helping needy people to stabilize their lives” have also been discovered. Hua Kim Khoan, a member of the ward’s Veterans’ Society also supported VND20mln, presented 50 gifts to social policy beneficiary families…

So far, the ward’s Veterans’ Society has set up clubs on ornament trees, table tennis, poetry….This has contributed to creating favorable conditions for members to mutually meet and exchange while promoting the society’s movements among the local people. The above efforts show that the society has created a high consensus in its activities, helping it become a top unit in activities of Di An town’s Veterans’ Society.
