Early September 22, Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee received and worked with a delegation of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, the Korean Institute of Environment and the Royal Academy of Cambodia, the Lao National Institute of Science, Economics and Society, led by Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh, Vice- President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.
At the reception, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Minh said that implementing the annual cooperation plan, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and three international institutes have jointly organized sideline seminars on such issues as environment, green growth, sustainable development, smart city development. Binh Duong is one of two provinces chosen by the Academy to work and survey to help members of the delegation witness the local development results in these fields, contributing to improving the quality of people's lives, solving economic, social and environmental problems caused by urbanization and industrialization.
Mr. Minh shared that Binh Duong is building a smart city in association with green and sustainable development orientation, in which the role of scientists is very important. To achieve the goal, the province has actively cooperated with foreign partners to build and implement the Binh Duong Innovation Region and smart city project. Especially, there is the Binh Duong Science and Technology Industrial Park project with the vision of becoming an innovation center of the southern key economic region. The province is also implementing digital transformation, promoting green growth and social progress.
In the coming time, Binh Duong always wants to learn and strengthen cooperation with localities in Laos, Cambodia, and Korea to promote a community with stronger development in the coming time.
