In the morning of June 22, at Binh Duong Convention and Exhibition Center, Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Member of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee, Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee chaired a press conference to provide information on the socio-economic situation in first 6 months of 2022.
The overview of the press conference
According to the report of the provincial People's Committee, in the first 6 months of 2022, the province's socio-economic situation continues to achieve positive and comprehensive results in most fields. Of the 34 key socio-economic, environmental and urban indicators of the province, 13 have so far met or exceeded the annual planning. Outstanding results and gross domestic product (GRDP) increased by 6.84% over the same period in 2021; industrial production index was estimated to increase by 8.35%; total retail sales of goods and services was estimated at VND 133,300 billion, increasing by 12.3%; trade surplus was maintained at nearly USD 6.4 billion. As of May 31, the province attracted foreign investment of USD 2.522 billion, reaching 140% of the planning and increasing by 91% over the same period in 2021.
Social welfare have been concerned while allowances and policies for people with meritorious services, social objects, the poor and laborers have been fully implemented. The situation of labor and employment has improved; some key industrial production sectors of the province have had larger demand for employment.
In the last 6 months of 2022, the provincial People's Committee will continue to closely monitor the market and commodity prices in order to have timely solutions to balance and stabilize (especially electricity and petrol) with focus on analyzing and assessing the limitations and weaknesses in the disbursement of public investment capital so as to resolutely transfer capital from projects that are slow to be disbursed and lack of capital to ensure disbursement under the planning. In addition, the province actively takes care of people's lives, especially policies to support those affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.

At the press conference, representatives of the press agencies inquired about the traffic jam situation, the great number of traffic accidents, the slow distribution of identity cards to people, propaganda on information about vaccination against COVID-19, the slow implementation of rental support policy.
