Binh Duong and Japanese partners elevate cooperation and investment efficiency

On October 18, Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee held an online conference with major Japanese economic groups. The online conference in Binh Duong province had the participation of Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly; Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Becamex IDC. The conference held in Japan had Tanabe, Vice Chairman of NTT East Group; Takahashi, General Director of Tokyu Corporation, as participants.

A leverage in technology development

In recent years, Binh Duong has actively established and maintained multifaceted cooperative relationships with important partners in Japan. Through these activities, the province has attracted more and more Japanese investors. Japan currently ranks second among 65 countries and territories having investment projects in Binh Duong with 327 investment projects, total capital of 5.7 billion USD. Returning to the "new normalcy" after the pandemic period, Binh Duong is building solutions to promote investment attraction.

At an online conference with NTT East Group (Japan), the Provincial People's Committee, Becamex IDC discussed issues, such as building a Smart City Operation Center, digital transformation, building an e-government, 4.0 technology, community wifi... Tanabe, General Director of NTTe-Asia, Deputy General Director of NTT East Group, reported and informed about NTT East activities in Binh Duong. He said, the group has received messages from many other Japanese companies that are interested in the investment environment of Binh Duong.

“Through seminars on investment environment in Vietnam held in Japan, we also hope to contribute a small part to encouraging Japanese businesses investing in Binh Duong. In 2021, we are preparing to soon become a strategic shareholder of VNTT. Thereby further strengthening the cooperation relationship with VNTT to develop infrastructure construction for smart city. That is also the long-term investment commitment of our group,” said Tanabe.

Recently, Becamex IDC and NTT East Group have cooperated in the NTT East cooperation project in Binh Duong. The project focuses on important services, innovating, and providing high-quality services in fields of telecommunications, information technology etc. to serve the development of the Binh Duong Smart City Project, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

At the conference, Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of Becamex IDC, said: “Becamex IDC is building a scientific and technological industrial park. It is believed that this project will create leverage for attracting technology firms, create new tools to increase labor productivity, and overcome the middle income trap. Scientific and technological industrial park is a new model that complements and promotes the traditional industrial parks.

Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Van Loi acknowledged and appreciated the contributions and cooperation between NTT East Group and Becamex IDC. Binh Duong is committed to creating all favorable conditions for projects to become more and more successful. The Provincial Party Secretary welcomed and supported the technological wifi project, as well as upcoming projects on digital transformation for businesses, society, and traffic surveillance camera project.

To accelerate infrastructure projects

At an online conference between the Provincial People's Committee, Becamex IDC and Tokyu Corporation (Japan), the parties exchanged information on the development of large projects in fields of urban, commercial and transport infrastructure in Binh Duong. Takahashi, General Director of Japanese Tokyu Corporation, said: “In 2022, Tokyu will start the construction of the first commercial center in the new city, and is actively working towards the goal of sustainable development, research and put into use equipment with high energy-saving performance and plan for sustainable development platforms. Tokyu will make efforts and devote to the development and construction of Binh Duong Smart City.”

Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Van Loi expressed his hope that Tokyu's projects in the province would be restarted quickly. For new projects, the province creates all favorable conditions for the implementation. The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized: “I hope Tokyu pays more attention to the railway. I believe that the relationship is getting better and better, investment projects in traffic, trade center, public transport system would soon come into reality, becoming a model of Vietnam."
