Local leaders and deputies join in the rite of granting the national flag.
On Nov. 29, “Binh Duong and love for homeland seas and islands” festive night was held at the provincial administration center with the participation of Nguyen Minh Triet, former State President, Pham Van Canh, chairman of the provincial People’s Council, the provincial leaders through various stages, leaders of central Youth Union and departments, agencies, mass bodies and local people.
“Binh Duong and love for homeland seas and islands” festive night is one of activities under the program of Binh Duong youths bound for homeland seas and islands. At the festive night, audiences enjoyed exchanges with Major general Nguyen Van Tuong, Commissioner of the Vietnam marine police and students from Phu Quy island district learning in Binh Duong.
Right at the festive night, the organizing board granted 8 scholarships to poor students from Phu Quy island district learning in Binh Duong and the HCMC, offered gifts to 2 relatives of soldiers working at Marine Police Zone 3. In addition, the organizing board granted works, items with the total expense of more than VND1.6bil, donated gifts to children of soldiers under Marine Police Zone 2, offered outdoor entertainment work and gifts to children of needy families in Phu Quy island district, Binh Thuan province with the total value of VND300mil and more.
Attending the festive night, units of marine police, navy and Phu Quy island district granted the national flag to the provincial leaders and simultaneously received the national flag from the provincial Youth Union.
Earlier, the program of Binh Duong youths bound for homeland seas and islands attracted more than 3,000 youths and unionists and students who joined in arrangement of Vietnamese map and the national flag and implemented rites of saluting the flag and singing the national song.
In addition, there are another activities such as thousands of hearts eye homeland seas and islands; thousands of pottery dishes send love; exhibition themed “Binh Duong land and people bound for homeland seas and islands that take place until Dec. 9.
