Binh Duong bound for sustainable investment environment

At the Horasis China Meeting 2024, Binh Duong organized a special dialogue with the theme of "Binh Duong Investment Environment - Innovative - Sustainable - Open-minded Ecosystem". This is an activity to continue building up a strong and sustainable investment environment in the province.

New thinking, new vision

Opening the dialogue, Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee shared that the sustainable development of the investment environment is one of the extremely important factors in closely, harmoniously and reasonably combining economic - social - environmental factors, thereby opening a new perspective for production and business activities, ensuring no harm to the natural ecosystem, preventing and improving the "resistance" of the economy, especially localities taking industry as the main driving force of development, having a large economic openness like Binh Duong.

In order to improve production-business activities and develop a green investment environment towards sustainable economy, Binh Duong has set out 4 basic principles, including correlation, initiative, responsibility and balance. In the following years, the province will focus on maximizing its potential and development advantages in association with 4 economic growth drivers, including upholding advantages on geographical location, promoting regional connectivity; developing industrialization and modernization in association with the development of a new industrial - urban - service model; fostering traffic infrastructure to create motivation to attract investment; developing high-quality human resources.

Pham Ngoc Thuan, General Director of Becamex IDC said that in the current period, market demand poses new challenges for enterprises such as production cost efficiency, responsibility to the community...Investors, especially FDI enterprises must meet stricter requirements from raw material sources to production and supply for clean products and have clear origins to be accepted into the global value chain, increasing competitiveness. Therefore, in its development orientation, Binh Duong is accelerating the adjustment and re-planning of industrial parks towards greening, developing a circular economy, attracting high-tech industries... to bring economic efficiency and get more sustainable.

Opportunity to attract smart investment

Speaking within the framework of the China Horasis Meeting 2024, Xiong Meng, Vice-President, Secretary General of the China Federation of Industrial Economics said that the China Horasis Meeting 2024 in Binh Duong continued being an important premise for strengthening economic cooperation, developing bilateral trade as well as seeking investment cooperation opportunities between the two countries in the fields of green development, digital economy and response to climate change, promoting the construction of a safe and stable supply chain and production chain system.

Binh Duong is planning for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, expected to continue new investment and expansion of existing industrial parks, but aiming at higher standards in science and technology, environmental protection. Especially, the province focuses on developing industry in association with urban areas - services that meet the stricter and stricter standards of international investors.

Committing to strategic cooperation with Binh Duong province while strongly promoting Vietnam - China relations, Dr. Jonathan Choi, Chairman of Sunwah Group said that Binh Duong is on the momentum of developing into an industrial city with international level. Binh Duong is also strengthening digital and green economy. “That is why we signed a memorandum of cooperation with Becamex IDC to develop electric vehicles, energy storage devices and many other products. Sunwah Group will also cooperate strategically with Binh Duong province and Becamex IDC to transform the development of industrial parks in a green, smart and sustainable direction", Dr. Jonathan Choi added.

Mr. Dung hopes that through the Horasis China Meeting 2024, especially the dialogue with the theme of "Binh Duong Investment Environment - Innovative - Sustainable - Open-minded Ecosystem", Binh Duong wants investors to increase investment more strongly in the locality. To become a place with a stable production and business environment, transparent and healthy investment activities towards sustainable development in the future, Binh Duong hopes to receive consensus from all-level authorities, sectors, business community and investors, together building Binh Duong province into a worth-living, civilized and affectionate place.
