Binh Duong builds a strong and effective militia and self-dense force

On March 28, Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Vietnam Militia and Self-Defense Forces (March 28, 1935 - March 28, 2025). Present at the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; and Mr. Bui Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

In line with the development and growth of militia and self-defense forces across the country, the militia and self-defense forces in Binh Duong province have been established, strengthened, and developed to gradually meet mission requirements. With the motto "strong and widespread," the militia and self-defense forces in the province remain loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, the people, and the revolutionary cause. They have achieved many significant feats, contributing importantly to the ongoing strengthening of the armed forces.

Provincial leaders award certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.

Currently, Binh Duong has more than 20,000 officers and soldiers of these forces, with many components of military forces, branches and regular forces, arranged throughout localities, units, companies and enterprises. Of which, the party membership rate is over 32%; 100% of commune-level military cells have party committees; commanders are organized into party committees and have undergone training in military and political theory. With the motto "Sticking to the area - Maintaining security - Accompanying workers", Binh Duong has established 5 permanent militia platoons operating in industrial parks; 108 self-defense units in foreign-invested enterprises without Party organizations in the area.

During the meeting, Mr. Bui Minh Tri emphasized that the dedication of the militia force over the past 90 years has showcased the admirable image of the "Square-Star Soldier” and fostered strong trust and positive impressions among the people. He urged that, in the future, the Provincial Military Command, along with relevant agencies, units, and localities, should continue to enhance the leadership of Party committees; highlighted the importance of effective management and operation by the government, as well as the advisory role of military agencies in strengthening the militia and self-defense force. He called for ongoing care and development of these forces to make them increasingly robust, effective, and capable of meeting the demands of the new situation.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 34 collectives and 40 individuals; the Provincial Military Command awarded certificates of merit to 15 collectives and 17 individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement of strengthening the militia and self-defense forces.
