Binh Duong builds over 172,000 social houses in 2021-2030

*Handing over decision to appoint Colonel Ta Van Dep, Director of provincial Police Agency to join provincial Party Standing Committee

Early August 3, provincial Party Standing Committee held a meeting to hear and give opinions on the local project on social housing development for the period of 2021-2025, with orientations to 2030. Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation and members of provincial Party Standing Committee chaired the meeting.

According to the draft report of the Party Committee of provincial People's Committee, the local investment target for social housing development from now to 2030 is expected to be 172,879 units with a total area of ​​612 hectares, providing accommodations for over 678,300 people. In the period of 2021-2025, 42,256 social houses are expected to be completed, supplying accommodations for 163,476 people. In the period of 2026-2030, it is expected to complete 130,623 apartments, supplying accommodations for 514,831 people. The project also mentions groups of solutions on land fund, solutions to organize the implementation of the project.

At the meeting, delegates expressed their opinions and suggestions on the implementation of the project such as land fund creation, selling price, administrative procedures, construction location, responsibilities of departments, sectors, localities, enterprises...

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Loi agreed on the direction and viewpoint of the project. He requested relevant units and agencies to expand the project’s beneficiaries and the order of priority; study to take advantage of capital sources, especially preferential capital packages and low-interest capital while simplifying administrative procedures at provincial level. He also asked for provincial People's Committee in September 2023 to organize a conference to hear opinions by localities, businesses with experience in social housing construction and people related to the project, complete the draft project before announcing it.

At the meeting, provincial Party Standing Committee announced and handed over a decision of the Secretariat to appoint Colonel Ta Van Dep, Director of provincial Public Security to join the Executive Board, the Standing Board of provincial Party Committee for the 2020- 2025 tenure.
