Binh Duong children: Worth of being the Party's young shoots
On April 2-3, 2025, the 24th provincial Uncle Ho's Good Grandchildren congress was held, bringing together hundreds of outstanding young delegates. This significant event recognized the most excellent members in the movement of emulating and practicing Uncle Ho’s Five Teachings.
Emulating in following Uncle Ho’s teachings
From 2023 to 2025, the movement of "Binh Duong children emulating in following Uncle Ho’s five teachings" has been widely implemented with positive results, attracting nearly 500,000 Young Pioneer Organization (YPO) members and children across the province. Many meaningful educational activities and movements, namely "A thousand good deeds", "Small Plan", "Tran Quoc Toan", "Friends Helping Friends", "I love the environment"…were organized, contributing to fostering a young generation filled with compassion, responsibility and spirit of dedication.

One of the highlights of the movement is the "Milk carton sorting, collecting and recycling program" which responds to provincial Party Standing Committee’s Project 02-ĐA/TU. With the participation of more than 300 schools, the program has collected over 80 million milk cartons, equivalent to 80,287 kg. These cartons were recycled into products such as tables, chairs and flower pots, which were then awarded to units excelling in the implementation of the program. Additionally, funds from the program have been used to support disadvantaged children, build the Ly Tu Trong monument, establish children's bookcases, plant trees…
Furthermore, strengthening the YPO has been a key focus. Provincial YPO has guided district/city-level YPO branches to properly induct new members. The YPO member admission ceremony is held solemnly, leaving a deep impression on the children, especially when being organized at historical sites on major anniversaries such as the anniversary of the founding of the Youth Union and the YPO. During the 2023-2025 period, the province has admitted 19,380 new YPO members and 18,236 senior YPO members have attended pre-Youth Union training classes. Notably, over the past two academic years, Binh Duong had two outstanding YPO members honored annually with the prestigious Kim Dong Award from the Youth Union Central Committee.
Protecting and caring for children
Along with education, provincial YPOs at all levels have placed strong emphasis on protecting and supporting disadvantaged children. Under the campaign of "For beloved juniors", provincial Youth Unions at all levels have resolutely implemented and regularly inspected the implementation of targets on supporting and helping children with difficult circumstances and building playgrounds for children. Especially on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, International Children's Day (June 1) and the new school year opening ceremony, provincial YPO has directed district and city-level YPO branches to organize activities such as Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations, the "Supporting students to school" program and mobilize sponsors to visit and present gifts to disadvantaged YPO members who strive for academic excellence.

Through models such as "A day for a friend" and "Compassionate arms helping friends to school" along with the movements of "Striving for excellence in studies", "Diligent and outstanding students" and "Helping needy friends", the province has supported over 33,851 children with a total fund of more than VND 10 billion. At provincial level, 2,350 children received support worth over VND 1.8 billion. Additionally, provincial YPO has collaborated with relevant agencies to enhance children's participation in social issues. In the 2023-2024 academic year, nearly 137,000 children took part in consultation activities and more than 300 of their suggestions were forwarded to authorities for resolution. Simultaneously, extracurricular activities have been organized to equip children with life skills, including training sessions on preventing abuse, school violence and traffic safety.
Le Tuan Anh, Pernament Vice Secretary of provincial Youth Union and Chairman of provincial YPO stated: "With the united efforts and contributions of children and youth leaders at all levels, for many years, provincial YPO has continuously been recognized as the top-performing unit nationwide, receiving the leading flag and commendation from the Youth Union Central Committee. This has greatly contributed to the annual outstanding results of the Youth Union's activities and the youth movement in the province. Provincial Youth Union was honored to be awarded the 2024 Clever Mass Mobilization Award by provincial Party Committee. With the theme of "Binh Duong children – Being proud of our tradition, following in our predecessors' footsteps - Worthy of being the Party’s Young Shoot”, the 24th provincial Uncle Ho's Good Grandchildren congress will commend 135 exemplary YPO members from nine districts and cities, including 59 elementary students, 70 middle school students and six students from charity classes.
"This congress marks the achievements and efforts of Binh Duong’s children. It is not only an occasion to honor outstanding YPO members, but also an opportunity for them to interact, learn and spread positive values within the community. I hope that each child recognized at this congress will become an active nucleus, promoting meaningful acts in both their studies and daily lives", said Le Tuan Anh.
During the congress, delegates will participate in experiential and traditional educational activities, including offering incense and flowers at provincial Martyrs’ Cemetery, visiting the FrieslandCampina dairy company, experiencing traditional lacquerware craft villages, touring the Intelligent Operations Center (IOC), the Lego Factory, the Minh Long Ceramics Museum. Notably, delegates will have the honor of meeting with and reporting their achievements to provincial leaders and officials. After the congress, 50 outstanding YPO members and 10 exemplary youth leaders will participate in the "Proud tradition - Following in Our Predecessors' Footsteps" journey from April 3-6, 2025 in Hanoi and Phu Tho…
