Binh Duong continues to achieve many important socio-economic results

On June 1, at the Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee held a press conference to provide information on the socio-economic situation in May-2022. Nguyen Thi Duong, Chief of Office of the Provincial People's Committee; and Le Tuan Anh, Director of the Provincial Department of Information and Communications, chaired the press conference.

According to the report, in May 2022, the socio-economic situation of the province continued to achieve many important results. Specifically, the province's industrial production index was estimated to increase 9% compared to the previous month and increase 12.3% compared to the same period in 2021. Accumulated over the first five months of the year, provincial index of industrial production increased by 7.9% compared to the same period in 2021. In May, the province's export turnover increased by 6.2% compared to the previous month; the import turnover increased by 23.3%; the total value of public investment disbursements as of May 15 reached VND 1,558 billion.

Regarding foreign investment, in May, the whole province attracted 151 million US dollars; accumulated over the first five months 2 billion 492 million US dollars. In socio-cultural fields, the province timely and fully implemented regimes and policies on funding support for people with meritorious services, policy beneficiaries, vulnerable groups, workers, poor households and children. In May, the whole province recorded 478 infection cases of dengue fever, an increase of 100% compared to the previous month; the Covid-19 was under control; social security, politics, social order and safety were secured...

At the press conference, press agencies asked many questions about such issues as: material facility preparation for the new school year, increase of tuition fees compared to the previous school year; the progress of the rent regime for workers; rising gas prices; the recurrence of land plot sales in Tan Uyen Town; the scarcity of textbooks in the new school year; the number of thefts and robberies increased…

Representatives of departments, agencies and branches answered issues and questions of press agencies. Nguyen Tam Duong said that the socio-economic fields of the province had atttained many important results. In the coming time, the province will accelerate the implementation of solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in order to effectively implement social welfare; along with that, well organize the high school graduation exam; proactively prevent natural disasters...

Duong also emphasized that Binh Duong expects the collaboration and opinions of the press agencies to help the province develop further.
