A strong foundation

Le Hong Khanh, Deputy Director of Binh Duong Electricity Company (PCBD), said that in 2022, PCBD has promoted the application of digital technology in all operations. PCBD is developing online activities with many effective solutions, improving service quality for electricity customers, being flexible in production, business and management activities, and creating favorable conditions for customers, especially for customers in remote urban areas of the province. In addition to intensive IT training for employees, electricity industry informed and guided customers through the installation of convenient applications, such as: Electronic supply, electronic contract, invoice, debt lookup...

Currently, the shared software systems of electricity industry have basically unified to meet requirements of main professional tasks. The construction of the digital foundation for electricity industry and for PCBD is implemented synchronously with an optimal and cost-effective solution, in line with the demand for information technology development.

Specifically, a centralized information system, a high-speed fiber optic network with large capacity transmission devices, a storage system with high availability features, and an information security system have been gradually improved, especially virtualization technology is applied to the server system, bringing many benefits such as increased mobility, better resource management and sharing.

Bring benefits to customers

The provision of online services for customers has received the support of 99.47% customers. In addition, 100% records and dossiers of business production and customer care are processed online by electronic and digitized methods. The application of the digital working environment into production, customer service, smart devices, and software promptly solved requirements and recommendations of customers.

Electricity services connected to the national population database through the National Public Service Portal will bring convenience and simplicity to customers, when all kinds of dossiers that require attached personal papers, such as identification card, household registration book, will be replaced with customer information provided by the national population database.

Currently, Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) is also a pioneer in connecting electronic invoices (E-Invoice) and transmitting data with the electronic invoice system of the General Department of Taxation. EVN's digital ecosystem will help people not have to go to transaction offices to carry out procedures for electricity services, saving time and saving costs for printing records and papers.

Le Hong Khanh, Deputy Director of PCBD, added that digital transformation and successful application of the technology platform is a dual task that not only supports the electricity industry but also effectively facilitate local sustainable development. Digital transformation brings even more benefits to customers in remote areas. "The electricity industry defines digital transformation as not only technology, but also high determination for the goal of better serving customers," said Khanh.

Currently, new electricity bill payment methods bring convenience to customers, such as QR code, Mobile Money; upgraded website and customer care app, AI application... In particular, customers in rural and remote areas who do not have a bank account can still pay electricity bill without using cash. Digital transformation of the electricity industry promptly meets the demand of customers and create motivation for the unit to move towards comprehensive and sustainable development on the path of integration.
