The whole province last year spent VND167.47bln on offering help to people with difficulties. Particularly, the province granted 27,006 health insurance cards to poor people and 4,060 such cards to those living near poverty; mobilized donors to present gifts worth more than VND6bln to poor people; supported electricity costs for 6,549 poor households under the province’s poverty line with the level of subsidy of VND30,000 per households per month; organized meetings with poor households in 14 out of 91 communes, wards and townships in the province; built and handed over 270 unity houses to the poor…

Thanks to many measures implemented in a synchronous way, as of Dec., 2012, the whole province only had 3,600 poor households. Thus, as of late 2012, the province basically escaped poverty under the local poverty line in the 2011 and 2015 period.
