One of movements winning great response from local farmers is the movement of farmers good at production and business to help together escape poverty and make wealth legitimately. As statistics, from 2009-2012, the entire province has over 105,000 farmers winning the title of farmers good at production and business. The province has emerged many effective models of production and business. They include orchid growing, safe vegetable growing and so on.

Lam Van Hoa, vice chairman of the provincial Farmers’ Society said “the movement of farmers good at production and business is one of key activities initiated over the years. By creation, innovation, many new models have helped farmers become farmer billionaires. They have contributed greatly to local agricultural development, placing jobs for rural laborers”.

Tran Van Bien in Phu Giao district’s Phuoc Sang commune said “The movement is very significant for farmers. It helps farmers approach loans, scientific and technical transfer for the sake of making wealth legitimately”. At present, Bien has collected over VND2bil from his rubber plantation.  

Nguyen Van Nhut in Thuan An town’s Binh Chuan commune has escaped poverty from vegetable gardens.

In 2012 alone, the society has developed 2,713 members, totaling nearly 60,000 members. To help farmers believe in mass bodies’ activities, the society at all levels has spurred promulgation. The society in cooperation with mass bodies has promulgated the Party and State’s instructions and policies.

In addition, the society has mobilized members to join in preventing and fighting disease epidemics on plants and animals.

Since early this year, the society at all levels has held 2,400 meetings with the participation of nearly 87,000 people.

However, to help the society’s operation develop strongly, the society’s contents and activities must be suitable to farmers’ aspirations. As such, the society has helped many poor members approach preferential loans. Additionally, the society has focused on scientific transfer and vocational training for local farmers.

From its good deeds, the society has really become a bridge between the Party and people, contributing to spur local socio-economic development.
