Binh Duong implements Journalism Law well

• Proposal of issuing journalist IDs to radio broadcasters in districts raisedDecember 26, surveying team of National Assembly’s Committee for Education, Children and Adolescence led by Mr. Le Nhu Tien, Deputy Director of the Committee, had a working session with Binh Duong Department of Information and Communication on implementation of Journalism Law in Binh Duong Province.Under reports of Department of Information and Communication, the two news agencies of Binh Duong Newspaper and Binh Duong Television together with 4 other agencies of Binh Duong Labor Magazine, Binh Duong Art Magazine, Technical Economics Magazine, and Thu Dau Mot University Journal have been operating in Binh Duong Province.Besides, Vietnam News Agency and Justice Newspaper have allocated their representative offices in Binh Duong Province. Some sectional newspapers have their resident reporters in Binh Duong Province.For the time, the mentioned press agencies have conformed with regulations and purposes of political journalism ruled by Central Committee of Information Dissemination and Education on policies and guides of the Party and laws of the State in the phase of building up democracy in social life and encouragement of models.At the working session, Director of Department of Information and Communication, Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuyen has proposed the department to make robust consideration and resolutions to dossiers of licensing submitted by press agencies to facilitate special issues for Tet and holidays by overriding regulations of submission to Central Bureau of Journalism among other proposals to approve press agency entitlement to district radio stations and issue journalist IDs to district radio broadcasters.On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Le Nhu Tien highly appreciated the law implementation of local press agencies while proposing Binh Duong Department of Information and Communication to conduct tighter cooperation with other press agencies outside the province boundaries.On the same day in the afternoon, the delegation had a working session with Binh Duong Provincial Television where leaders of the station proposed some matters including measures of controlling prices of transmission and broadcasting services and tax reduction on revenues of the station as well as elevation of royal payment rates.On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Le Nhu Tien took notes of the proposals and should present those to Ministry of Information and Communication and National Assembly as contribution to draft amendments of Journalism Law.Reported by Minh Duy – Quynh Nhu – Translated by Vi Bao
