Binh Duong is on right track in smart city construction

On the evening of September 7, Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, received a delegation of the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), led by John Jung, co-founder of the ICF, to exchange some contents about inspection results and propose orientations in the coming time. Also welcoming the delegation was Mai Hung Dung, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the working session, Mr. John Jung assessed that Binh Duong is on the right track in building up a smart city, emphasizing focus on innovation, converting to modern industry with high added value, investing in infrastructure, social housing, education, innovation... which is the orientation for smart, sustainable development.

Regarding orientations in the future, according to Mr. John Jung, in the the local master plan, Binh Duong should pay attention to traffic towards the TOD model; enhance green space to make Binh Duong get a worth-living place, a place to attract and retain talented people. Besides, the province should be popularized more widely so that the world knows about it. He also hopes to be a contributing member in telling Binh Duong's story to the world.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Mr. Dung said that through participating in the ICF, Binh Duong has learned a lot in the local development process. This is also an opportunity for Binh Duong to join 200 Smart Communities in the world. Provincial leaders will participate in the Top 10 evaluation event and continue inviting Mr. John Jung to Vietnam in the near future...
