Binh Duong Junior College of Agriculture and Forestry’s vocational training is always associated with employment

This is the motto of Binh Duong Junior College of Agriculture and Forestry in vocational training work. So far, most students have sought jobs after graduating from the school, which is located at quarter 8, Dinh Hoa ward and TDM city. This is because they have met recruiters’ requirements.

Attaching special importance to academic and moral education

Binh Duong Junior College of Agriculture and Forestry now has 57 managerial officials and teachers, including 1 doctors, 11 master degree holders and the remainder with education at college, junior college and university levels.

The school includes two training programs: two-year training for pupils who have completed high school graduation and three-year training for those with junior high school graduation. Le Thanh Ban, Head of the school’s Training Department said that along with vocational training, the school has always attached special importance to training students’ life skills and self-reliance.

According to Huynh Kim Ngan, Principal of Binh Duong Junior College of Agriculture and Forestry, the school’s target in the 2013-2014 academic year is to enroll 600 students and till now, it has enrolled 245 students. The enrollment task is now seen as one of common difficulties for most vocational junior colleges.

He added that the school has always made efforts in training task. Particularly, the school has boosted linkage with other localities, comprising of Dak Nong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Bac Lieu and Binh Duong’s districts of Phu Giao, Ben Cat, Tan Uyen, in the field of in-service training.

In the new academic year, the school has developed a new major on natural resources and environment management, absorbing around 90 students. Other majors such as veterinary-animal husbandry, cultivation, land management, business accounting, information technology, English... have also lured more students

Vocational training in association with job introduction

According to members of the school’s managing board, most students at the school have sought jobs after graduation because they have met recruiters’ requirements.

Le Van Binh, from central Thanh Hoa province, has just graduated from the school’s veterinary-animal husbandry faculty and now works for Vietnam Animal Husbandry Joint Stock Company in Dong Nai province with the initial salary of VND3.4mln a month. Binh was granted a graduation certificate from the school on October 23 and now still helps take care of the school’s vegetable garden under water culture, corn garden... He prepares to hand over this job to other students to be able to continue his work at Vietnam Animal Husbandry Joint Stock Company.

Two other students, Quang Van Viet and Quang Van Nghia, who are Tay ethnic people also said that they have been felt very secure when attending the school. This is because hearing that most students herein have sought jobs after graduation. They are also assigned to get involved in the school’s models on animal husbandry and cultivation, helping them earn money to take care of their daily life.

To Dr.Dinh Thanh Sang, Head of the school’s Department of Scientific Research and International Cooperation, the school is researching some projects. The department had a working session with KOICA on September 13 to prepare for sending South Korean volunteers to the school to implement some projects  by the end of 2013 and in the following years. In October, the school also helped In Vivo NSA Corporation and several fertilizer production companies recruits the 29th-term students who have just graduated from it.

In September and October, the school’s Department of Scientific Research and International Cooperation also teamed up with many other departments to mobilize 59 scholarships for students. The school is expected to set up its Study Promotion Fund, open classes on foreign language and computer at night, establish a English club to help students improve their English speaking and writing skills.

With such efforts, Binh Duong Junior College for Agriculture and Forestry hopes to absorb more students and introduce stable jobs to them after graduation.
