Binh Duong Lacquer & Sculpture Association boosts coherence for better development

Binh Duong Lacquer and Sculpture Association has affirmed its role amid the local traditional crafts facing difficulties. The association is seen as a fulcrum for members, helping them further promote their development in the coming time.

Efforts

Binh Duong Lacquer and Sculpture Association was established on August 29, 2006. The birth of the association has contributed to preserving and upholding the strong point of traditional Vietnamese lacquer craft.

The association now lures 106 members and one of the associations’ top tasks is to offer help to each member for better development. Last year, the association made efforts to support lacquer establishments and enterprises taking part in trade fairs, exhibitions; suggested the functional agencies to confer the “artisan” title to outstanding members…

Building up a collective brand name

The birth of Binh Duong Lacquer and Sculpture Association has made a big leap in developing traditional lacquer craft.

In 2010, the association teamed up with provincial Department of Science and Technology to set the Project on “Building, managing and developing a collective brand name of Binh Duong lacquer”.

The Department of Intellectual Property under the Ministry of Science and Technology, on July 8, 2011, granted a collective brand name of “Binh Duong lacquer” to provincial Binh Duong Lacquer and Sculpture Association under the Decision No.19876/QD-SHTT.

For sustainable development, the association has further braced up members to boost technological innovations in a bid to enhance the quality of products, contributing to promoting their production and export activities. The association has also regularly studied and shared experience with other relevant organizations…

One of the associations’ main activities in 2012 is to promote the development of the collective brand name of Binh Duong lacquer. This is seen as an initial element to help preserve the province’s traditional lacquer craft and then promote its development in the future.
