Binh Duong makes more efforts for socio-economic recovery and development

Update: 02-12-2021 | 12:18:28

That is the common opinion of delegates participating in an online seminar on "Safe and flexible adaptation for socio-economic recovery and development in Binh Duong province" co-held by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and provincial Party Committee on the morning of December 1. The event was attended by Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, member of the Politburo, Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theory Council and leading experts in socio-economic fields.

Protecting workers, enterprises

In the framework of the seminar, delegates gave their opinions, professional perspectives on Binh Duong’s socio-economic situation after being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The important content that was most discussed by the delegates was the local socio-economic development orientation in the post-industrial and post-Covid-19 period.

Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial the National Assembly Deputy Delegation and Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary, Chairman of provincial People's Committee and delegates at the online seminar

Speaking at the workshop, Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation said that Binh Duong will try to support, protect workers and enterprises during the post-Covid-19 period. This is the consistent view of the local Party, government and people during the over 20 years of building and developing an economic model of concentrated industrial parks and compounds.

According to provincial leaders, although the pandemic has been basically put under control, the whole province has still continued raising vigilance at this time. In addition to rechecking injection of full two doses of Covid-19 vaccine for all people and workers, the province is also asking the government for the policy on early deployment of the third Covid-19 shot for all people in order to bring the province's economy - society back to a completely normal state.

In 2021, the spiritual and social lives of the people of Binh Duong in particular and the whole country in general have been negatively affected by the pandemic, but with the spirit of solidarity, dynamism and creativity, the Executive Board of provincial Party has focused on directing the whole political system and people from all strata to make efforts in achieving the highest goals and tasks of 2021. Specifically, according to Vo Van Minh, the province's socio-economic performance this year has continued gaining positive results. Noticeably, the province’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by 2.79%. The province’s FDI attraction reached more than US$ 2.06 billion while State budget revenue and expenditure exceeded the set targets.

When returning to the "new normal" state, the province will continue supporting the local business community to recover production and business. Thanks to the attention of the Party and authorities at all levels, many enterprises facing difficulties have made great efforts to overcome difficulties and recover spectacularly.

Taking full advantage of resources to recover and develop

That was the opinion of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang and leading experts in the field of research, survey and prediction of socio-economic development at home and abroad when sharing about Binh Duong’s socio-economic development orientations during the post-Covid-19 period.

Having the same opinion with Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, leading experts in the field of research, survey and forecast of socio-economic situation made convincing scientific arguments, giving predictions and suggestions for Binh Duong in the post-Covid-19 period through speeches. This is considered as one of initiatives with a high gray matter content that is very useful for Binh Duong in the context that the pandemic is at the risk of resurgence while socio-economic situation is severely reduced, due to aftershocks of the pandemic.

Getting contributive ideas from experts, Mr. Loi clearly stated the local orientations for socio-economic recovery and development in the coming time. In particular, the province will pay special importance to implementing support policies for enterprises and employees to soon return to production, business and maintain market supply chains. Along with proactively responding to the pandemic in the new context, the province will also hold meetings and soon make big decisions to complete the set goals of building a smart city with a green - clean - sustainable development foundation during the post-industrial and post-Covid-19 period. Mr. Loi also suggested the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and scientists continue accompanying and supporting Binh Duong to overcome difficulties towards development goals in the following years.

At the seminar, there were some outstanding speeches, namely "Vanguard locality” by Prof. Tran Ngoc Anh, Indiana University (the USA); “Prediction on the development trend of Binh Duong in the post-Covid-19 and post-industrial period by Dr. Huynh The Du, Fulbright University & Indiana University (the USA); "Socio-economic recovery-development activities and opportunities for Binh Duong" by Dr. Dang Duc Anh, Deputy Director of the Central Institute for Economic Management; "Some major economic trends in the world and suggestions for Binh Duong” by Dr. Nguyen Thang, Permanent Vice-Chairman of the Socio-Economic Policy Advisory Council, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences...
