Binh Duong on its development pathway through the lens of art

Over 25 years of construction and development, Binh Duong attained remarkable achievements, gradually strengthened its position in the country. Provincial artists also created many unique works of art and contributed more than 630 works to the art - photography competition themed "Binh Duong on its development pathway 2022".

Fewer numbers

Over the past two years, the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted all aspects of socio-economic life. In particular, the Provincial Literary and Arts Association was also directly affected when many cultural artistic programs and activities had to be stopped or postponed. Therefore, the number of participants in the art - photography competition "Binh Duong on its development pathway 2022" is less than in the previous year.

According to musician Pham Dac Hien, Chairman of the Provincial Literary and Arts Association, the contest organizers received nearly 600 photographic works by 30 artists and 40 fine art works by 26 artists. In order to assess the artistic quality of these works in a fair, honest and transparent manner, the organizers invited prestigious artists of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists to join the jury. As a result, the Organizing Committee selected and decided to award 11 photography awards to 7 artists and 11 fine arts awards to 11 artists.

According to the jury, the entries followed the content and theme prescribed by the contest. The winning works in this contest are of good quality, express the right content and intentions that the authors want to convey. In particular, there were photographic works that know how to apply well photographic techniques to improve the art of creative photography. Besides, although the number of art entries of this year is not as much as the previous year, but the quality is good and uniform. This proves that the art movement in the province is developing, painters and sculptors have worked hard at creative activities. Lacquer and wood carving sculpture gained the biggest success in this year and are still the strengths of Binh Duong.

Exquisite angle of sight

Together with the exhibition of high-quality works at the Art - Photography Exhibition 2022, senior artists also shared their thoughts about excellent works and made comments so that competitors are able to complete their works.

Photographer (EVAPA/G - exceptionally excellent photographic artist) Hoang Thach Van, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of Photographers, said that the works on display at this exhibition proved its expressiveness of visual arts, conveyed messages and ideas well with the sensitive subtle perspective of artists. Many photographic works captured moments of very idyllic beauty, vividness of nature and people in the dynamic rhythm of life that is constantly changing in Binh Duong.

Musician Pham Dac Hiến added that the art-photography exhibition with the theme "Binh Duong on its development pathway" was a regular event. This year, there are more than 120 works on display at the exhibition selected from more than 600 works of the art - photography competition "Binh Duong on its development pathway 2022". This is an activity that contributes to the introduction of photographic and fine art works that embody high ideological and artistic value and demonstrate economic achievements, science and technology, national security, strengthen the international integration, introduce examples of the campaign of learning and following Ho Chi Minh's ideas, ethics and lifestyle, achievements in building "cultural lifestyle, urban civilization". Besides, this is also an opportunity for artists to show their talents, introduce meaningful artworks with new perspectives to the public.

"We hope that artists would continue to develop cultural traditions of Binh Duong, continue to create many works of high artistic quality, express the will and aspirations of Binh Duong army and people in the construction of Binh Duong", said musician Pham Dac Hien.
