“Binh Duong pays special attention to energy development from waste”, says vice chairman provincial People’s Committee

A Japanese delegation led by Mr. Maeda Shigery, advisor of the Agriculture and Energy department under the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) yesterday paid a working session with the provincial People’s Committee to discuss a project of building an electric generation plant from waste.

“Japan now has about 1,300 electric generation plants from waste under operation for over 20 years. Jica has planned to cooperate with Binh Duong Environment and Water Supply Company to survey and build an electric generation plant from waste. Initially, the delegation will make a basic survey to learn about demand and establish a project of technology transfer to contribute to the province’s socio-economic sustainable development”, said Maeda Shigery.

The provincial People’s Committee vice chairman Tran Thanh Liem highly valued Jica’s capacity and  cooperation result of ODA loan program between Vietnam and Japan.

As an industrial province, Binh Duong is in need of energy generation from waste to cater for production and living. The provincial People’s Committee will facilitate experts and scientists’ surveys in a bid to put the plant into operation as soon as possible.
