Binh Duong power sector's mark on national 500-kV power line project

With the spirit of “sharing efforts to overcome sunshine and rain on the construction site”, after more than a month of deployment to support the construction of the 500kV Circuit-3 power transmission line project from Quang Trach in Quang Binh province to Pho Noi in Hung Yen province, Binh Duong Power Company has coordinated with other units to excellently complete the construction of the VT56A Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa tower foundation.

Voluntary spirit

In early July 2024, amidst the scorching heat and prolonged heavy rains, at the large construction site of the 500kV Circuit-3 power transmission line project from Quang Trach to Pho Noi, workers of Binh Duong Power Company made every effort to overcome hardships and challenges, working “three shifts, four teams” to ensure progress and meet the urgent demand for electricity supply to northern localities.

Field survey of the construction site

"The 500kV Circuit-3 power transmission line project, extending from Quang Trach in Quang Binh province to Pho Noi in Hung Yen province is a key project with special importance for national energy security. Due to the nature of the project, the Prime Minister has issued strict directives to ministries, sectors, local authorities and agencies, joining hands in involvement at the requirement of completing the project by the end of June 2024. The project not only receives significant attention from leaders of the government, relevant ministries and sectors, but also demonstrates the determination of Vietnam Electricity Group through the mobilization of human resources from its units for support.

Efforts in construction to ensure the completion of assigned tasks

With the urgent requirements of the project, on May 30, Binh Duong Power Company organized a mobilization ceremony for its task force to support the construction of the project and accelerate progress for the timely completion of the project. In two phases, Binh Duong Power Company had 21 workers participating in the construction of the VT56A tower foundation. Working in challenging terrain, members of the task force from Binh Duong Power Company continually strived, overcoming difficulties related to accommodation, food and harsh weather conditions. After arriving at the site, with the support of the power company and local authorities, workers of Binh Duong Power Company were able to focus on their work and tried to complete their assigned tasks.

Excellently fulfilling tasks

Nguyen Minh Vuong, a transmission line operation and management worker from Binh Duong Power Company’s High Voltage Grid Management Team expressed his honor at participating in this project. “As soon as the company’s directorate formed a task force for the project, we, young workers, voluntarily registered with the desire of contributing to the economic and social development of the country”, Mr. Vuong stated with determination.

Meanwhile, Phu Ngoc Loi, a line worker from the company’s High Voltage Grid Management Team noted that although 21 members of the task force had never experienced the difficult and harsh conditions of this project before, with a determination to overcome challenges and the trust placed in them by the company's leaders, all the team members made great efforts to overcome obstacles throughout the construction process.

Mr. Loi further shared that starting from June 1, based on the list provided by the Central Region Power Projects Management Board, the company’s task force coordinated with the construction unit Song Da 11 to survey and receive the site. However, after working with relevant units, two major issues arose, impacting construction of the project. Particularly, a large crane of 200 tons could not reach the location, due to the lack of access roads, and there was insufficient materials for construction. The construction unit Song Da 11 agreed to transfer other task to the company with carrying out the assembly of 56A tower foundation under conditions that ensure construction safety.

"With the tireless efforts of the task force and the drastic direction of the company’s leaders, for 21 days and nights, by midnight on June 28, 2024, the position of 56A tower foundation, standing over 66 meters tall and weighing more than 162 tons, was officially completed. “Completing the task on schedule is a source of honor and pride for each engineer and worker in the company’s task force”, Mr. Loi shared.

“Le Minh Quoc Viet, Secretary of Binh Duong Power Company’s Party Committee and Director of the company stated that with the spirit of “The country needs electricity as the body needs blood”, members of the company participating in the 500kV Circuit-3 power transmission line project from Quang Trach to Pho Noi considered this as a responsibility and a source of pride. Despite the challenging construction conditions, prolonged hot weather and the project’s location far from residential areas, workers of the company completed their task excellently on schedule. The company acknowledged and spoke highly of the dedication of the task force involved in the project.
